Well we finally made it to Thanksgiving. Lots of liberals trying to force families and friends not to gather together to celebrate this blessed day but most seem to just ignore them. I read where one legislator wants to do away with Thanksgiving altogether. She was shown in a photo beating on a drum. Poor lady is so twisted she can’t even force herself to offer thanks, so she beats on a drum to vent.
Our celebration will be small this year with just one old friend coming to join us for turkey and all of the trimmings down here in the Keys. I really miss my kids and grandkids but will see them at Christmas Lord willing.
This time of year is great for reflection. When I was young and trying to build an empire, I always started formulating my goals for the upcoming year around this time. The process lasted all of the way until January 15th when the goals would be completely formulated, in writing, and ready to be accomplished.
My goals are much simpler now that I’ve got some age on me, but I still want to achieve and improve. I’m very thankful that I’ve lived this long. In my youth I didn’t believe I would see 25 but tomorrow I’ll be 74. Go figure.
Thanksgiving, however, is not about goal setting it is about thanking God for everything He has done for us. He provides the air we breathe, the beautiful land in which we live, our heart beats; in fact God owns everything and freely gives it to us as His blessing.
I am most grateful for Jesus Christ. Thank You Father for sending Him and thank You Jesus for saving me from my sins! The radical crackpots will no doubt try and shut down Christmas as well, but even if I’m sent to jail for celebrating with my family and saying what the cancel woke culture doesn’t want to hear, that I love Jesus, I’ll celebrate Christ coming into this world as long as I have a breath.
Yes, we have much for which to be thankful. The turkey, football, hunting, fishing, and having good times with family today are a part of Thanksgiving but before you eat today say a magnificent prayer to the One who made it all possible.
Are you a pessimist, optimist or psalmist? Hint, you should be a psalmist when you pray today.

2 Corinthians 4:15
All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
