I gather from my reading that Mike Pence did well in the debate last night. I didn’t watch it as I cannot stand listening to Harris and worse the commentary from the media concerning Biden and her.

A friend of mine and daily Bible study partner is running for office in Tallahassee and each day gives me a count of days remaining. He is exhausted from waving signs, putting up signs, meeting and greeting, handing out tee shirts and reading the vile mail he gets from haters on social media as they attempt to destroy his reputation.

He is wealthy and enjoys life to the hilt, so why run for office? Is he making a difference in his community? He insists he is and that is why he runs. I hope he is, but I’m pretty disgusted with the political state of our country. I, of course, would rather see him get elected to office than others, but cannot even imagine running for office myself; I could not even discuss it.

I believe President Trump ran for office to make a difference. He didn’t need the job, the fame, or the power. As a multi-billionaire he had all anyone could want minus all of the personal attacks and death threats.

He put his entire family at risk because he wanted to make a difference. He has accomplished that though his achievements are clouded and hidden by the power brokers who want him gone and are willing to lie, cheat, or steal to achieve their objectives.

I’ve been studying Kings and it has been a steady parade of evil kings with a good one appearing only every now and then who straightened out the nation of Israel and Judah for a while before they were replaced with someone who would reverse all of the positive things the good king had accomplished and soon it returned to its former or even greater wickedness.

Over and again this occurred until God got fed up and allowed them to be conquered and carted off to Babylon as slaves. Reading of these kings and comparing to our modern day leaders I have come away convinced now more than ever that there is no man or woman on planet earth who can effectively lead our nation into peace and prosperity for very long.

It will take Jesus to do that.

We can vote for those whose biblically inspired values approximate our own, but no lasting change will be permanently be made even if they are elected.  We can only vote for the person who we believe will lead us to peaceful lives and will honor the Lord. Trump/Pence is the only ticket we could possibly vote for as a Christian. To do otherwise is to endorse abortion and so many other abominations to the Lord.

We should patiently endure, knowing that the Lord will one day make things that are crooked straight. We must put our trust and faith in the Lord.

Revelation 3:10

Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
