I had a strange dream last night. I was applying for a job as a teacher and setup an appointment with a client who said he had some women employees, and none had even high school degrees. My job would be to assist them in getting them.

The pay was excellent, and I could start immediately. So, I went down to check it out and my GPS took me to a strip club. I went in and asked for the guy who had run the ad and he was a big burly dude with tattoos all over him. He told me he had never been educated and “his girls” had never had the opportunity and he had been turned down by several educators because they worked at a strip club.

He had a room in the back and had setup a small classroom and almost all of his workers had signed up for the classes. I accepted and began teaching them. Each day I would go in and a couple of them would be gyrating and swinging around poles as I made my way to the back room.

I found them to be earnest in their desire to learn and obtain their degrees. After about six months of this I happened to walk through the club and lo and behold there was someone I knew from church, a deacon no less. I was running late and didn’t have time to stop and speak but did wave at him as I headed to the back room.

That night I got a call from the head of the deacons and he wanted to meet with me. I had breakfast with him the next morning and he began berating me for going to a strip club. I knew who had spread the gossip and popped my cork and told him I was teaching those ladies how to read and the deacon who saw me there was sitting at the bar with a drink and handful of dollar bills stuffing them in the girl’s stockings. Then he acted like he didn’t believe me and I got really mad and popped him in the nose, knocking him off his stool to the floor.

Then I woke up and I was still steamed.

I have a friend who made some mistakes and his relatives and some of his religious friends just will not forgive him for it, though he has apologized profusely time and again. He is frustrated to no end and vowing to respond with an eye for an eye and I advised him not to pop anyone in the nose, or tell them off, and/or worry about it. He should just move on. Many people who are deeply involved in their religion forget Jesus in the process. It goes all of the way back to the beginning of time. Some folks are too busy trying to keep up with other people’s sins that they forget their own and the word grace is foreign to them. We all sin and when we fail to forgive, judge and condemn others we seem to be in the norm.

Start the New Year off right and remember God is in heaven we are like microbes on the back of a flea on the back of a dog in the Master’s house. He is the judge and has all the information to do a perfect job without anyone’s help.

Psalms 89:14

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne”.
