Wow the weather in Jupiter is just right. Lows in the 60’s and highs in the mid to high 70’s. The weather will be like this for some time to come and it is the reason so many people come here to south Florida in the winter. I was thinking of heaven this morning and wondering what it will be like there. I like warm weather and high humidity, but I know folks who love the freezing cold and no humidity; I don’t like snow and they seem to love it. Will we have seasons or not?

I am reminded of Moses leading the Jews through the desert. It seemed they griped almost every step of the way and poor old Moses had to listen to them. They griped about the manna that God provided every morning and so God gave them quail and they still griped. (Quail and grits sounds pretty yummy to me!)  Moses was a picture of patience to me as he tried to reason with a horde of ungrateful demanding people. They were slaves toiling for Pharaoh and being mightily persecuted until Moses led them out of that bad situation and yet they griped so much that ultimately God wouldn’t even allow the original bunch save Caleb and Joshua into the Holy Land. “Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me, except Caleb . . . and Joshua . . . for they have wholly followed the LORD.” (Numbers 32:11-12)

Unlike Joshua and Caleb, the other Israelites followed the Lord’s calling out from Egypt, but they did not follow Him into the land. Many Christians repeat this same error today. They have followed the Lord as He led them out of the spiritual death of sin and guilt. They are “out of Egypt.” They are forgiven of their sins. They have new life in Christ. However, they do not follow the Lord on “into the land.” They do not follow by faith into abundance of life. They do not follow the Lord in humble dependence for transformation, for fruitfulness, for a life of spiritual victory.

My feeling is one of deep gratitude. I begin and end each of my daily prayers by first thanking God for loving me and giving me exactly what I need. I realize it is up to me to use it to fulfill His purpose for me and I try not to gripe. I don’t really care about the weather in heaven because I know it will be perfect. God loves me and will take care of me; this I believe through faith. I believe God!

Vonette Bright once told me that her husband Bill Bright used to attend meetings for Campus Crusade for Christ, (CRU now), and they would be discussing all kinds of serious problems and others in attendance would be wringing their hands and acting as though their hair was on fire. Not Bill, he would be leaning back in his chair and often could be seen dozing off and on through the meetings. When asked by a reporter what kept him up at night, he just smiled and said, “Nothing, I sleep like a baby.” He trusted God with everything and didn’t get steamed up or worried about anything. God is on the throne and is in complete control.

How about you. Do the Democrats and Progressives drive you batty? Are you worried about the election and all of the “what if’s?” Nuclear war? The Chinese, Russians, North Korea, Iran? Climate change? Migrants taking over the USA? Losing your job?

Believe in God and that His love will suffice. We are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves us for the Bible tells us so and if He loves us He will take care of our needs. So relax! You will make it just fine and heaven will be wonderful!

2 Cor. 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
