Abortionists get away with murder, liberal professors poison the minds of our youth, the media lies, the arts and entertainment industry portray immorality as normal, big business is greedy and corrupt, the church refuses to preach God’s unadulterated truths, precious children are enslaved and sold for sex, living together is preferable to marriage and divorce separates families, illegal drugs and excessive intake of alcohol causes heartbreak and grief. I find myself praying for God to return and right all of the wrongs in this world today.
So, this morning I’m studying Ecclesiastes and this verse screams out at me:
Because God does not punish sinners instantly, people feel it is safe to do wrong . . .
We see this working in the world today as it becomes more and more wicked. There are those who think they can do as they please because evil is not punished and in fact is often rewarded by the “lost majority.”
Ugh nations are deceived by the master deceiver Lucifer. It is a fact that “justice delayed is not justice denied” in God’s eyes. Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it . . .”
Have you ever wondered why God waits??? I think this verse sums it up: The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. So, should we follow His lead? We should indeed. This makes a case for being patient with those who sin. I for one am glad this attribute is there. Otherwise I would be in hell forever instead of looking forward to heaven.
There is hope for so many in this world. Given time some will eventually find their way and I cannot in good conscience pray a selfish prayer that God would whisk away to heaven those of us who answered God’s call and received His forgiveness, mercy and grace and send the lost majority to hell to suffer through eternity. In fact, it makes me more determined to try and reach the lost as God’s vessel to introduce as many as possible to the Holy Spirit. Amen!
I follow Jesus in praying that the lost will turn from their sins and find their Savior.
Acts 26:18
To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
