One of my sons and all of his family came by plane, and another drove his family down from Atlanta to see us over the holidays. The trip for the one who drove was not without drama. Their brakes went completely out on the expressway. It was a very scary moment driving on the toll road and when they tried to slow down to go through a toll booth, the brakes went completely out. Fortunately, no other cars were going through the booth he chose and they made it through and coasted to a stop. Praise God they did not crash, but it created a dilemma. It was already getting dark and most repair places were closed anyway.
What were they to do?
My youngest grandchild came up with the answer when he said, “We need to pray about this right now!” He is six years old. God answered their prayers (and mine.) They found a place to repair it, a motel for the night and the next day they were sitting at our house enjoying the holidays. I’m so proud of my children and grandchildren I could burst. The four grandkids took turns saying the blessing for every meal the entire week and adults and children applauded as the youngest recited all of the books in the New Testament.
What a great Christmas present to know that every member of our family loves the Lord and recognizes that He alone is the answer to our problems.
Psalm 127:3
Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
Happy New Year Everyone!
