According to a poll I read, 82% of the people worldwide have lost hope. For some it’s a wayward daughter or son, maybe a bad medical test, the never-ending middle east conflict, finding a job, paying off debt, murder and violence, those guys in Washington D.C. – you name it.

Yesterday I watched a video of a man who had a near death experience. He wasn’t a rock-solid believer prior to this event, but he is now. He said Jesus talked to him and it was wonderful. He no longer fears death and the things that used to worry him don’t matter much anymore. He said God asked him if he had any questions that he wanted to ask Him, and after thinking about it, the man asked God what the meaning of life was. God laughed heartily and told him He would explain it when he came back to stay with him forever and they had more time.

After the man recovered he told a friend about his experience. The friend remarked the answer to that question was easy, The meaning of life is love.

This man could not control his emotions and sobbed as he told of getting ready to return to his body on the operating table and God hugged him goodbye. He said he was so filled with love that the feeling was indescribable.

Hmmm . . . Wouldn’t you love to be hugged by God today?

You can be.

I remember a time when I was homeless and living on the dark mean streets of heartless cities filled with despair, pain, and loneliness. I remember when I’d lost all hope and was ready to eat a bullet and commit suicide. I would have loved to have had a hug from God. Little did I know that He was waiting to do just that and soon I would find Jesus Christ and things would change for me forever.

Funny, God knew me then. He also knew that I would come to Him, and that when I did He would bless me. He saw me not as I was, but as how I would be when I was filled with His Holy Spirit.

He hasn’t changed one iota and all those things that used to bother me and filled me with hate, are insignificant today. God will change those things bothering us all in time. I hope you will put your complete faith and trust in Christ and just calm down – BREATHE!

God is like a cool breeze on a hot summer day. Enjoy Him. He loves you so much you cannot even imagine. He will save you; He will comfort you; He will hug you. Allow Him to take over your life today just watch as your troubles melt away.

Phil. 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think on these things . . .

Have a great weekend and go to church Sunday!
