So, the election is nearly upon us. Democrats are licking their chops in anticipation of taking back the House and returning the country to gridlock. I was feeling pretty good that the mess was finally coming to a head and we would be free of the attack ads and increased intensity of anti-Trump rants but was appalled to see that even though the midterms have yet to be completed the politicians desiring to run for President in 2020 are already running ads.
Egad! Can’t they give us a break for a few months? It is a blessing in disguise I suppose. I have tired of all the attacks and have tuned out from watching the news altogether, which has allowed me time to do other things and more peace of mind.
I haven’t tuned out entirely and do obtain my news from several sites on the internet where I am free from the talking head–pseudo-intellectuals blathering about nothing. Tragically 11 Jewish worshippers were gunned down by an anti-Semite racist, immediately the press and Democrat mob declared that it is Trump’s fault.
Huh? Isn’t he the one that finally had the gumption to relocate our embassy to Jerusalem. They have named streets after him there. Now according to the liberal socialists, he is encouraging people to kill Jews?
The sad thing is that so many in this country eat up the propaganda like pigs eating slop. I voted by write-in ballot like I always do. I carefully studied my I-Voters guide that details the various candidates stands on most of the important issues. I think of myself as an Independent but almost always vote Republican, sometimes holding my nose when I do it. Yes, there are awful candidates on both sides and sometimes we are left to choosing the lesser evil.
My real citizenship is in heaven and that is where my loyalty ultimately resides. I love my country but hate what is happening to it. I adamantly refuse to vote for anyone who supports abortion. Life is sacred, and these little kids deserve to live. I support those who stand by the Bible when it comes to marriage being between one man and one woman. I support those who believe that we should be free to worship without government interference. I support enforcing laws and not allowing people to illegally enter our country; they should follow the law if they desire to come here.
About half of the population, (and the readers of this column) disagree with me on these issues and others. That’s fine, and it would still be fine if 90% disagree. I have read the Bible many times and studied if for over 47 years. I know what the Lord’s laws are. As I stated I follow God’s laws first and not popular opinion.
If you don’t vote then in my mind you should not even be a citizen of this country, and certainly should not gripe about it. Whether you agree with me or differ you should vote. The Bible teaches that we should choose righteous good people to lead our country. Vote for those who love the Lord and His word the Holy Bible!
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path
