Yesterday was one of those days. Nothing went right, I was inundated with difficult problems of every description, including but not limited to personal issues, customer issues, organizational issues, you name it. I mentioned to my wife that my day had been a particularly bad one.
There are billions of people out there in this world with real problems, many are literally starving to death. I remember one of my employees related to the company how he had traveled the world in the military and had seen poverty, sickness and disease throughout the world. I too through my extensive travels have seen first hand how poverty affects most of the people in this world. I once had a leper come up to me on a Bombay India street and beg for money. He pointed to his mouth with nubs instead of fingers. The leprosy had eaten away most of his hands, and he had to hold his cup with his palms because his fingers were gone.
On the streets of Mexico City one night about midnight, my wife and I were returning from a late dinner and a young girl approximately five years old came up to me. She stuck out her hand for money and pointed to her mouth that she was hungry. Mexico City is very cold at night, it is located in the mountains. She did not even have on a coat nor SHOES.
Her little feet were wrapped with newspapers. This pitiful little girl was by herself dressed in rags begging at midnight in a city of twelve million people. I will never forget looking into her beautiful little eyes and seeing the desperation.
We are very fortunate to live in the United States, particularly at this point in time. For all her faults, America is by far the best place of anywhere in the world to live. We are a free people and our country offers her inhabitants the best that mankind has been able to produce.
It is not perfect, but it is a blessing from God just to be living here.
We should thank God for choosing to allow us to inhabit this great country. We should count our blessings on our knees thanking God that we do not have to live in the Iran, North Korea or Haiti, or countless other countries. In many countries if you are caught you on your knees worshipping what they consider to be the wrong God, they would put you to death. We have much for which to be thankful!

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of
