Yesterday the Supreme Court ruled that a Colorado baker did not have to bake a cake to celebrate a gay wedding which went against every religious conviction he had. When explaining their ruling, the judges called out the Colorado Commission who sanctioned him for not baking the cake because of their obvious disdain and hate-filled bias towards the baker’s Christian views.

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) who took on this case pro bono has fought this travesty for years through all the appellate courts and lost every time until it reached the Supreme Court where it overwhelming ruled in the baker’s favor 7-2.

True to form throughout the process the gays have bashed this poor man, issued death threats, and the bad press has destroyed much of his business as they were joined by powerful corporate and media enablers. After the ruling, as one might imagine, the lobotomized Hollywood set were howling foul and demonizing the Supreme Court as were the leftist press and of course Nancy Pelosi who was indignant and accusing Christians of being intolerant.

Religious liberty won a big victory because this brave baker stood his ground and would not forsake his Lord over the almighty dollar. I say bravo. The case was never about being anti-gay, rather it was a religious conscience issue against going against one’s faith by helping to celebrate a marriage between two men which the Bible clearly states is wrong.

There were and are plenty of bakeries that would have baked the cake and pocketed the cash, but this man wanted no part of it and subsequently was singled out to be made an example that one must either comply, or we’ll ruin you.

The strategy has worked in Hollywood and elsewhere in the entertainment industry and big corporations and others have fallen in line. Let me be clear I don’t advocate refusing service to homosexuals. I object to their forcing their agenda on the rest of us in demanding we celebrate something my faith clearly identifies as being unholy.

I have a difficult time understanding why big corporations make it a point to push this agenda. For example, look at this advertisement for the upcoming gay pride night advertisement in Atlanta:

Show your Braves pride at SunTrust Park on Friday, June 22 as they take on the Baltimore Orioles at 7:35 p.m.!

As LGBT Night continues to grow, we’re moving the pregame party to The Coca-Cola Roxy (located steps away from the ballpark) so even more people can join in on the festivities . . .

Stay after the game for Friday Night Fireworks presented by Georgia Lottery.

$39 ticket package includes:

  • Pregame party at The Coca-Cola Roxy from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring music by DJ Kimber from Nonsense ATL
  • An ‘ATL’ Braves pride hat
  • $3 donation to Lost-N-Found
  • Home Run Porch game ticket

It’s a wonder that they aren’t giving away free condoms and alcohol in their package like they’re doing at the next Boy Scout Jamboree.

The Atlanta Braves “Pride” hat has the LGBT rainbow coalition colors on it. So, if a hat vendor thought printing those hats violated their religious beliefs will they subject themselves to death threats, public scorn, and millions in legal fees?

I say let them celebrate the sin but don’t force others to celebrate with them. There are plenty of hat vendors that would be happy for the order.

I don’t have to attend that game, so it is of little importance to me. It is not homophobic to refuse to celebrate what our God via His Bible states is wrong. I do not condemn homosexuals nor judge them, nor hate them. I just don’t want to be a part of their agenda regardless of what society thinks. I believe the Bible.

  1. S. Lewis once said – “You don’t have to defend the Bible. That’s like defending a caged lion. In reality, all you have to do is let him out and he’ll defend himself.”

But since believers are the Church, it seems logical to defend Christ’s bride. But society tells us, “Don’t make waves. Don’t ruffle anyone’s feathers. Don’t rock the boat.” Those are clichés that instruct us to go along to get along and don’t say what you want to say because you’ll upset someone.

Underneath the admonition is the noble intention to spare someone’s feelings. You don’t want someone to get upset or feel uncomfortable or confused or irate. You just want to keep people happy.

Granted it’s a good sentiment but society takes it too far and we no longer speak the truth. Christians sometimes don’t speak the truth because we don’t want to make others uncomfortable, and sometimes we hold our tongues because we don’t want to suffer the outrage from others if we say what we believe.

The church should boldly preach the Good News of Jesus Christ and never be ashamed of what is in His word the Holy Bible – the truth. Stand up for Christ and don’t follow the world. Follow Jesus Christ!

If you have been persuaded to just shut up I pray the Lord will bless you with a huge dose of courage and understanding to stand up for His truth, but I urge you to do so in gentleness as the Bible ordains.

2 Tim. 2:24

And the Lord’s slave must not engage in heated disputes but be kind toward all, an apt teacher, patient, correcting opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance and then knowledge of the truth and they will come to their senses and escape the devil’s trap where they are held captive to do his will.
