So, Roseanne Barr’s tremendously successful sitcom got canned after she tweeted about Obama’s former advisor Valerie Jarrett, who is African-American. Barr tweeted Tuesday: “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=VJ.”
Yikes!
ABC said in a statement that Barr’s comments were “abhorrent and repugnant.” That seems fair concerning saying someone descended from an ape, but ABC also said the tweet was “inconsistent with our values.”
Values? Values? ABC has values?
This the same company that employs Joy Behar, a notorious anti-Christian. Behar, a panelist on “The View,” recently ridiculed Vice President Mike Pence over his Christian beliefs, and suggested people who talk to Jesus are mentally ill. She wasn’t fired.
And now comes ESPN which is owned by ABC and has rehired foul-mouthed-hater Keith Olbermann, who unleashes a torrent of vulgarities at President Trump at every opportunity. Here’s one Olbermann tweeted at Ivanka Trump, Trump’s daughter: “Then tell your racist, white supremacist, neo-nazi father to get the f— out of our society.”
One would think that Disney would find Olbermann’s tweets “abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with (their) values,” but no he is onboard with their liberal elite ideology and a fat new contract.
Or what about avowed atheist Bill Maher who does a show on HBO. Among other things, he has referred to Sarah Palin’s son with Down syndrome as “retarded,” and Maher said that Donald Trump should prove he wasn’t “the spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.”
Isn’t this pretty much what Barr said?
And yet these are elite liberals and they aren’t losing their jobs. It’s hypocrisy for sure; however, the root of the problem on both sides is the sin that lives deep within that begs to be released. It is unconstrained in a society devoid of civility.
Ugh . . .
It’s a nasty world out there. If anyone doubts that the hearts of mankind are filled with sin, they need look no further than Twitter. 140 characters of pure evil drip, drip, drip out the nature of the beast that dwells inside humankind every second of every day.
Just imagine if our amazing technology were used to uplift each other instead of tear down. Dream on . . .
Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
