Wow!
I read this morning that Federal Bureau of Investigation officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page discussed in text messages a “secret society” set up within the Justice Department and the FBI after the 2016 election, in the immediate aftermath of [Trump’s] election.
Geez!
That means that powerful folks within the Department of Justice and the FBI, including Page and Strzok, began working against Trump to bring him down right after the election.
Holy Cow!
According to several lawmakers who have seen the hundreds of text messages between Strzok and Page — who were engaged in an extramarital affair — showed that they detested then-candidate Donald Trump, supported Hillary Clinton, and that they feared his election and discussed an “insurance policy” in case he won.
I have often heard of the deep state within our government bureaucracies like the CIA, FBI, and Justice departments, and hoped it was just Internet conspiracy stuff. These texts appear to be the smoking gun.
Could this be the tip of the deep state iceberg?
Another story has recently emerged concerning a four-page memo circulating in Congress that reveals alleged United States government surveillance abuses and is being described by lawmakers as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming,” with one congressman likening the details to KGB eavesdropping activity in Russia. Many people are trying to prevent the release, but many are determined to release it in the coming weeks.
Sad!
Wouldn’t you love to live in a country where your government was completely honest and with nothing to hide was completely transparent?
Americans and all of earth’s inhabitants want to trust their government to do the right thing. We desire a corrupt-free society where truth matters. We want to believe in the FBI and the United States Justice Department and love and respect them for what they do. We want lawmakers that represent the good of the people and not themselves.
Alas all of humankind is fallen. Sadly, it is not limited to government. It is no different than business, schools, media, arts and entertainment, churches and even families. Corruption exists in every segment of our culture. This is not to say that good is non-existent; it is to say that evil coexists, and at times seems to gain the upper hand.
When I ended my business career to pursue fulltime service for the Lord in founding the Jesus Alliance, I naively thought those who were involved in fulltime ministry were different than those in business. I believed that they truly wanted to serve the Lord and not themselves. Sadly, rather quickly I came away disillusioned when I discovered that many are just like others in society, meaning its more about serving themselves than Jesus.
In business I always meticulously checked every reference of potential candidates for employment, conducted criminal background checks and everyone had to take a drug test. When I first entered the ministry, I was a trusting soul. I mean who would think someone applying for work in fulltime ministry would lie about their resume, or similar activity? I believed them, considered it to be a “God thing” and hired people on the spot.
Ugh! Hard lesson after hard lesson taught me to go back to my roots of being a hard-nosed-no-nonsense CEO.
I for one, look forward to experiencing life under the rule of Jesus Christ. Just think no more corruption, greedy self-servers, liars, power mongers, egoists, money worshippers, sexual deviants, thieves, murderers, war-makers, and sickos. Just sweet truth, kindness, unadulterated love, wholesome activity and pure thoughts. There will be no tears in heaven.
I look forward to that day when Jesus returns in the sky to beam me up along with all who have trusted in His Holy Name. His rule will be glorious and will never end!
