So last week I sent out a video regarding the evilest sin in the world, Child Rape for Profit, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvAzvCjwldk and urged everyone to watch it. Sadly, very few did so. I sent it to one group consisting of about 15,000 people and 100 watched it, (it’s up to 335 now.) Another mailing went to some 27,000 folks and about 6000 watched it.
What the heck? The folks on these lists were supposedly all Christians. Surely, they’re interested in stopping innocent children from being raped – Aren’t they?
Ugh . . .
The video is being posted to lists that are in the millions beginning today and throughout the ensuing weeks, but I’m not optimistic that the percentile who watch it or share it will change.
Quite naturally I’m discouraged by the apathy of so many towards this horrific evil being perpetuated on our children. Christian people who will not take time to even watch a 2-minute video, much less share it, or otherwise try to do something about stopping slavery for sex of our young children, speaks volumes to the condition of so many people’s hearts.
A reader wrote me on Friday and stated:
Good Afternoon Bob,
I thought of you this morning during my devotions. I read:
Ezekiel 2 & 3 – God sent Ezekiel to his own people who were rebellious and God said they weren’t going to listen.
2:7 – “But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious.”
3:7-10 – “Surely the whole house of Israel is stubborn and obstinate. Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces and your forehead as hard as their foreheads. Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, though they are a rebellious house. Moreover, He said to me, ‘Son of man, take into your heart all My words which I will speak to you and listen closely.'”
They may be stubborn and not listen but I think God has made you as stubborn as them, harder than flint to do the work He gave you to do. Keep on brother.
Hmmm . . . admittedly I have a rock-hard head – I’m glad that it’s not my heart that is so hard.
Ezekiel was told not to be dismayed. I suppose I should be no different. I originally thought the title to this post should be Discouraged but not defeated, because I am discouraged but am resolute to keep fighting this fight. Maybe that is why God brought it to my attention. He knows I am stubborn and will keep fighting for His innocent little children.
As I think about Noah who apparently preached for 120 years without a single convert, it bolsters my resolve. I assume many of those who didn’t bother to spend two minutes watching the video were too busy with their busy lives just as in the days of Noah.
Hmmm . . . Are we too busy these days to pay much attention to the evil in our midst? Is getting that next business deal, playing golf, going out to eat with good friends, planning that wedding, winning those soccer games, attending that concert, having fun at those parties, more important to us than protecting some little kids we don’t even know or otherwise trying to do something to combat evil?
Jesus mentioned the folks who failed to listen to Noah:
“As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away. So, will be the coming of the Son of Man . . .”
Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and other prophets all spoke to the masses, but they too were oblivious to God’s message. I’m not a prophet or a Moses, but God is the one that brought the Child Rape for Profit to my attention. For reasons known only to Him He decided to use me along with others to bring this evil to the attention of the masses. I assume He wants everyone possible to have an opportunity to do something about it. Too bad so many ignore that opportunity. It’s hard for me to imagine missing an opportunity to serve God. I can’t deal with that in my life.
I have studied the Bible enough to understand that God is patient and long-suffering, but when one considers 60 million abortions occurring in this country, perverted men ravaging children, government persecuting Christians, etc. it makes you wonder how long before He tells the remnant to “load up,” that the time has arrived, The Day of the Lord is upon us, and today the sheep will be separated from the goats – the wheat from the tares . . . I fear the Lord and will do my utmost to obey Him . . .
Psalm 112:1
Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands.
