June 2 2017 – Click here to listen

I just finished spending a few days fishing in the Keys. We caught mainly Snook and tarpon and the fish were really biting well. I haven’t had any time off in quite some time and it felt good to relax and smell the ocean for a change.

It seems the problems of the world are not felt so much in the Florida Keys; conversation seems to gravitate more towards the fish bite, weather, and what restaurant we will visit after the day’s outing, instead of some Hollywood nut holding up a fake decapitated head of our President, or the constant sniping of Democrats and the media.

It is tempting to just drop out of society and live this life. No worries about human slavery, child rape, terrorism, those far from Jesus, liberals constantly attempting to destroy our country, fighting the evil among us, and so on.

So why would a person who is financially capable of leading a life of fishing on deep blue and turquoise waters every day ever want to leave?

Who says they don’t? The question is, are we looking to today or tomorrow? When the Lord says go, we can’t say no; or at least we shouldn’t. Paul had an interesting comment on this when he stated the following:

Romans 8:23

And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God.

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday . . .
