It seems everywhere I go someone is watching and listening. Every mouse click on the Internet is recorded and added to my profile and marketers know just how to market to me. NSA, it turns out, is spying on anyone and everyone in this country, always. Surveillance cameras abound virtually everywhere I go and I cannot walk down the street without being filmed. I sometimes think I’ll just go off to a secluded place to get away from it all, but even there someone is watching as satellites equipped with super cameras soar through outer space.
And then there is God. I’m going through the book of Proverbs with a friend and we send each other the verses that speak to us each day. Today it was Proverbs 5:21 “For God is always closely watching you, and he weighs carefully everything you do.”
I told my buddy that I try to “walk the walk”, and yet it is difficult not to stumble. It is a sobering thought to know that God is closely watching everything I do and it helps me to focus on staying on course. I also told him I cringe when I drift.
This kind of coincides with yesterday’s verse Proverbs 4:11 – “I would have you learn this great fact; that a life of doing right is the wisest life there is.” Old King Solomon was the wisest man there ever was and the Bible states that no one will ever be wiser. Do right today my friends.

“But I say to you, for every idle word that men may speak, they shall be held accountable . . . ”
