Don’t you just wish that everyone was like you?
LOL – I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, but sometimes we act that way. I was having a discussion with my son Jon and he was talking about someone who thinks in terms that are the diametric opposite of his views. He went on and on about them, and to tell the truth I feel similarly about this person and joined in the commentary for a while.
Ugh . . . I actually felt guilty about talking about someone that way, and I know the guilt came from God. The Lord created us to be different, and I for one, am very glad. It’s hard enough not to be bored in this world with all the variations of humans with their different ideas on practically every subject. If everyone was the same I would be more bonkers that I already am.
I suppose I think I’m right about everything and they are wrong.
What if I’m mistaken?
Huh? Now that’s an odd question . . . LOL
I haven’t known many people who don’t think they are right about everything. Thus, we have divisions, strife, fights, and wars. This is not the behavior God would want or He wouldn’t have made each of us unique.
I heard a story about a schoolyard bully that was terrorizing his classmates. Understandably no one wanted anything to do with him. One day a youngster came home and told his mom about him and how much he and the other kids disliked him.
She asked the little boy if there was any redeeming factor about this kid.
He thought for a moment and then replied that he was good in baseball.
She said I bet no one chooses him for their team and the boy nodded affirmatively. Then she told him the next time they were choosing teams that he should pick the bully first. The little boy tried to object, but she told him to give it a try and so he did.
The bully had never experienced anything like this, and you guessed it, soon thereafter became best friends with the little boy, and eventually through his good influence quit bullying the school. All he needed was to be shown a little love and kindness.
The Bible tells us that we should emulate the Lord in all that we do. Don’t you see Christ in this story? I always detested bullies and tried my utmost to beat the fire out of them. I would have never thought about using kindness instead of fists to change their behavior.
Hmmm . . . I wonder if that is why I was in so many fights . . . Duhhh . . .
Eph. 5:1
So try to be like God, because you are his own dear children. Love others as Christ has loved us. He gave his life for us . . .
