This past weekend I went to an Inmate Encounter prison ministry event that was simply spectacular. Several hundred desperate men and women tearfully confessed their sins and asked Jesus to come into their lives and radically change them. It is a glorious thing to witness.
The event was in the Tallahassee area and on Sunday we had a rousing service at Honey Lake Church and were joined by a nice local crowd and some of the same folks with Inmate Encounter. Ray Charles’ daughter, Sheila, and her husband Tony offered testimony and sang as did others. I had a great time worshipping the Lord.
Afterwards I drove Sheila Rae Charles and her family back to Sarasota and the next morning drove to Orlando in order to fly back up to Tallahassee to go on a bus tour with nine other speakers. The tour began in Tallahassee to Jacksonville, Daytona, (where I am now) to Ocala and back to Orlando tonight. The tour is being conducted to attempt to get CEOs from around the state to support Christian lawmakers.
When I arrive in Orlando I will attend back to back meetings with the Council of National Policy, CNP, and National Religious Broadcasting, NRB.
Whew!
I’m really encouraged because I’m seeing so many folks committed to glorifying God and battling the anti-faith movement. It is very rewarding and I wish every one of you would step up and enter the fray. We battle a mighty foe and it takes prayer but we need to pray while we are walking with boots on the ground carrying out God’s plan to preach the Gospel and disciple every nation.
We can enter God’s rest when we arrive in heaven and it will last for eternity. In the meantime, get in on the fun – Won’t you?
Col. 3:23
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
