I look at domestic attacks on police by militant racist groups like Black Lives Matter as being the biggest threat facing our nation, and yes that includes terrorism and rogue nuclear states.
Why?
Well look at it from the police officers point of view. They go on a routine call and then are ambushed by some racist killer.
How would you feel about going on the next call?
I can’t imagine that they feel much different.
If they are too aggressive, they end up in court facing legal hurdles that would make a wealthy person poor. If they are too timid and hesitate, then they just might die. It is a thankless, low paying job, made more difficult by politicians and a liberal press that is pro-criminal and criticizes their every move.
So what happens if they don’t go on that call?
What if that call is from you and some thug is breaking in your home or otherwise terrorizing you and your family?
Selah . . .
Why would anyone want this job? Most do it because they are brave and want to serve their communities. Yes there are still a number of brave men and women who feel an urge to serve, but these are scary and demoralized times for them. If too many of them hang it up as not being worth it, then what?
Anarchy! Just imagine what would happen if law and order broke completely down. Packs of thugs would roam the streets taking what they want. Some of you antigun zealots might want to get to a rifle range and soon if that happens.
So maybe you don’t think this could happen in this country.
I hope you are right.
I was thinking this morning about Cain and Able. Cain was a crop farmer, and Abel was a shepherd. When they sacrificed to God, He favored Abel’s sacrifice over Cain’s. Afterwards, Cain killed Abel, committing the first murder. The motives for Cain’s crime are typically assumed to be envy and wrath.
Not much has changed since that first murder. Envy and wrath seem to be holding their own and actually gaining. Envy is the desire for the wealth, traits, status, abilities, or situation of others. It is a driving force and often leads to anger which is manifested in the individual who opts for wrath and fury as a way to get even.
Envy and wrath are two of the seven deadly sins. Each sin goes against the root of Christianity which is: love for God, and love for our fellow man.
The cure for these sins is the gift of a new heart that epitomizes the love and law of God. This new heart can only come from God and is not something we can change on our own apart from Jesus. Ezekiel 36:26-27 says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
The great hope of humanity is the miracle of a regenerated heart that acts according to the direction of the Holy Spirit to walk within God’s laws.
The problems in this world are similar to the situations of Cain and Able. Envy and wrath dominate lives and the result is murder. Paul writes that the solution to our problems is simple enough. We just need to understand that God can take care of our needs and there is no reason to lust or desire after excessive things.
Now if we could just get this message out to those whose hearts are full of rage instead of love.
