Sometimes it appears that no matter which way you turn there are problems and insecurity galore. Actually anxiety is the number one mental illness in the country with billions spent on it annually. I was talking to someone this week who asked me several times how I had the courage to be an entrepreneur and face all of that risk. I told him that I have such faith in God that I don’t worry; end of story.
Personally I think it is insulting to God to worry. It makes it seem as though we don’t believe that He cares enough for us, or is big enough, or resourceful enough to help us resolve the things that drag us down.
Jesus dispelled that notion when he discussed this subject by saying that worry was futile and accomplished nothing. He stated that a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His seeing it and we were much more valuable than many sparrows; in fact the very hairs on our heads are numbered. He went on to elaborate on how fruitless worry was by stating that it accomplishes nothing, pure and simple.
I heard a scientist say the other day that there are 600 billion trillion stars. The Bible states that God has an individual name for each. He is incomprehensible. God is omnipresent (everywhere); omnipotent, (all powerful) and omniscient, (knows everything). Certainly He sees our problems, is powerful enough to solve them, and knows exactly what to do. We know He loves us more than we can comprehend too, because He sent His Son from heaven to die for our sins in order that we might live.
So why worry?
We shouldn’t! We should have faith in God that He will help us get through the worst this old world can conjure up.
Have a great weekend and this Sunday you will not want to miss being at Honey Lake Church for our special second Sunday service. Jack (“Murf the Surf”) Murphy will be speaking and appearing with an absolutely awesome band. Few people on this planet have a testimony like Murf’s. It is fascinating and you won’t want to miss it. He is one that can speak to faith and miracles that God can render in someone’s life.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
