I along with a group of mostly conservative evangelical leaders received an invitation to go to New York City and meet with Donald Trump next month. We will be afforded an opportunity to ask him about a wide range of issues that we deem to be important.

Interestingly a friend prophesied that I would be afforded an opportunity to meet with him. One question I definitely want to ask is if it is true that he does not feel a need to ask for forgiveness. This would simply mean that he does not believe the Bible where it states in Romans 3:23 – For ALL have SINNED and fall short of the glory of God and its companion verse in Romans 6:23 – . . . the wages, (consequences) of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.

If indeed he does not believe those verses, he is not alone in his thinking. George Barna famed research scientist told us at a conference recently that 40% of people who consider themselves to be evangelical do not believe in sin or in satan. That means they would feel no need for repentance aside from some humanitarian desire to do the right thing.

Barna told us that only 9% of “evangelicals” have a biblical worldview. That means 91% of them don’t believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. I assume that means they can cut and paste the Bible as they choose. Cut out the parts they don’t like and paste things that they desire to see in the Bible.

This kind of thinking has always defied logic to me. Aside from some relatively rare direct revelations and miracles the only one way that He communicates with us is through the Bible. Considering He is capable of creating the cosmos with some 600 billion-trillion stars, it seems that He would get His MAIN form of communication to us right. Dang if He is powerful enough to perfectly create everything we know including us, He would get the Bible right.

The Bible says of itself:

Psalms 12:6: “the words of the LORD are flawless”

Psalms 119:89: “Your word, O LORD, is eternal, it stands firm”

Proverbs 30:5-6: “Every word of God is flawless”

Matthew 5:18: “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

2 Timothy 3:14: “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The Bible testifies of Jesus. It is about Him. It discloses Him and reveals Him to us, and in so doing, it reveals us to ourselves as well. The Bible tells us of the fall of mankind and sin. It is written about the One who was born of a virgin, who became a man, who taught about love, sacrifice, and service. The Bible reveals the Son of God to us, and we see in its pages the life and ministry of a perfect man who offered Himself as a holy pure and perfect sacrifice for our sins. No one in all of history and in all the world compares to Jesus.

Only in the Bible do we read about Him from those who knew Him and walked with Him. Only in the Bible do we find Christ. Only in the Bible do we find the words of Christ who says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes the Father but by me,” (John 14:6).

Only in Christ, whom the Bible is about, can we find rest. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light,” (Matt. 11:28-30).

The Bible is the Word of God because it comes from God. It is self-attesting and true. We see that it makes prophecies and records their fulfillment. We see that it has the power to heal, to divide truth from error, and to convict us of our sin. And, we see that it reveals the One True Savior to us so that we might find redemption, the forgiveness of our sins, and a relationship with the one true God.

My prayer is that “The Donald” will see this light and that God will draw him to it like a moth. So many don’t believe this is possible.

Tonight I go to a fundraiser for the Jesus Alliance. It is being held in a huge mansion in Malibu California that was formerly owned by Bruce Jenner who tried to become Caitlin Jenner who now has indicated a desire to go back to being Bruce. His former wife wants him to have a relationship with God and she prays for him. Sounds like maybe those prayers are being answered.

Friends there is always hope. My life was miraculously transformed and so have the lives of innumerable other people. Trump’s life can be totally transformed PRAY FOR THIS MAN don’t stone him.

Rev. 3:29

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If ANYONE hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.
