So Nathan Deal Governor of Georgia vetoed the religious liberty law which would have protected pastors, churches, and faith based organizations from lawsuits. It would have given faith-based organizations in Georgia the option to deny services and jobs to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people if it violated their religious beliefs.
Both chambers of the Republican-dominated Georgia Legislature passed the bill a few weeks ago. House Speaker Dennis Ralston, a Republican, called the bill “a good faith compromise” that included “clear anti-discriminatory language.”
Timothy Head, executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, issued a statement defending the bill, saying it “simply protects pastors, churches, and faith-based organizations from being forced to violate their religious beliefs. He said: “We are confident we will ultimately prevail in protecting the free speech and religious expression of all Georgians”. I’m not so confident.
The very first direct revelation from God to which I can attest was concerning money. I heard distinctly: “The world is ruled by money and not by conviction”. Some of my Baptist friends and others don’t believe in direct revelations in these days, but I know what I heard and I know what God meant by it.
Take Nathan Deal for example, he was under tremendous pressure from the NFL, Coca Cola, the thriving Atlanta movie industry, and hordes of other businesses who threatened to boycott if the bill was not vetoed. The Governor caved in to this pressure.
Ask yourself why should a pastor, church, or faith based organization be forced to hire a gay, lesbian, or transgender person when their lifestyle violates their religious beliefs?
Duhhh . . . They shouldn’t, but they want to shove it down our throat and if we don’t like it then tough. They advocate tolerance until it comes to Christians and then they become militantly anti-tolerant.
Donald Trump told a friend of mine that he didn’t understand the Church. He said the church outnumbers those who are persecuting it 7 to 3 and he was asking those religious leaders why they put up with it. They put up with it because they are afraid that they will be labeled bigots and worse (just like he is when he stands up to those who desire to take our freedoms away).
At some point Christians are going to have to stand up for their beliefs just like the LGBT community, Black Lives Matter, NOW, unions, and others are doing. The National Rifle Association is very powerful and yet only have five million members. It is estimated that there are between 80-150 million Christians in this country. What if they threatened boycotts or staged marches and if their demands were not met delivered?
I tell you what would happen; we would not be persecuted long, because just like the Lord declared to me it is all about money in this country and not conviction. Those powerful board members and politicans would understand that Christians spend money and vote too.
Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
