Today I’m speaking in Jacksonville to a group of successful businessmen at a prayer breakfast. As I often do I’m talking about hope today. It is a subject that is especially needed in these uncertain turbulent times. The overwhelming majority of people in the world have lost hope. Some polls indicate as high as 82%!

Some have lost hope on their marriage, personal finance, their job (or ever finding one), health issues, a wayward son, daughter, sibling, parent, friend; those knuckleheads in Washington D.C., racial divides, world peace, defeating ISIS, nuclear proliferation, whatever.

Yes the world is in turmoil and it can be very discouraging if one maintains a contracted view of things; however if one steps back and looks long term to heaven the picture is much brighter, (that is if one is a Christian).

Jesus Christ is a game changer. He offers hope and peace and nothing is too difficult for Him, not even healing your wounds. We know that without hope, we have nothing in life. Christian hope is what gets us through the day, and through Jesus Christ, we have TREMENDOUS hope because He has promised us His glory forever. It is comforting to know that no matter what troubles you are currently experiencing in your life, you will always have salvation waiting for you.

It is interesting to me that those who say they don’t believe in God promptly blame Him when disaster strikes such as 9/11 or when other bad things happen to “good” people. In times of disaster folks flock to churches and pray. When the danger passes they go back to business as usual which means church is the last place they want to be on Sunday. This is false hope and God sees it for what it is.

One way we demonstrate our faith is by not forsaking the gathering together of ourselves. We all need to be in church this coming Sunday and every Sunday in order to secure the genuine hope for which we search. Jesus has promised that if we will seek Him, humble ourselves, pray, ask for forgiveness, and turn from our evil ways that He will hear from heaven and heal our land, (and us).

Have a great weekend and go to 2nd Sunday services at Honey Lake Church Sunday. This month we have Paul Johnian. He is a master classical violinist and a revivalist Pastor whose fresh anointing has brought him to minister throughout the United States, the former Eastern Bloc, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Africa. He has done extensive concert work with symphony orchestras and solo recitals on five continents. He toured Central and South America and Mexico with the Pablo Casals Orchestra, followed by tours with his wife Mona Johnian across Europe, Asia, Australia & the Middle East. For fifteen years Paul and Mona were on syndicated radio and television in Boston. He is currently Director of the Millennium Music Center of Boston.

No where else in Greenville or for that matter all of Florida will you be blessed by someone of Paul’s talent and love for the Lord? You won’t want to miss it. Services begin at 11:00 a.m.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
