An answered prayer

I’ve been praying that President Obama and other leaders would publically condemn the slaying of Christians by Muslim Jihadists. Yesterday for the first time he did just that, decrying the murder and beheadings of innocent lives in Libya. In the past he has danced all around the nomenclature and has never specifically used the word “Christians” while referring to those who had been slaughtered and I commend him for doing so. It is an answer to a prayer to me.

One of the goals of the Jesus Alliance is to urge leaders all over the world to immediately speak out against the martyrdom and persecution of Christians everywhere, (whenever and wherever it happens). This includes those leaders in the Church, parachurch organizations, and marketplace. To date it has not occurred, but we hope to change their minds about this as well as speaking out on other issues that concern Christians as well.

As Christians our persecution is not restricted to those atrocities inflicted by Muslims; we are being targeted by left wing Progressives as well. Beheadings and imprisonment for our belief system have not yet begun in the United States as they have in other countries, but we are being attacked for our belief in God’s Holy Bible at every quarter, especially when it comes to LGBT or life issues. We are labeled as bigots and litigation is underway to make it a crime to preach what the Bible clearly states.

Don’t be discouraged by the ever-increasing attempts at destroying what the Bible states is good and pure and replacing it with what it denounces as black sin, this too has been predicted. We are to boldly pray and do what we can to preach the Gospel and disciple every nation.

Jesus does not want us to be discouraged. After all He is the God of HOPE! Yesterday a lady interviewed me for a magazine article. As I was taking her back to her car in the rain I told her that I don’t worry about anything. She said I wish I was more like that. I replied that she can be; I told her that her faith will be increased by hearing the word of God. I love the word of God and spend time there every day of my life. Undoubtedly that is from whence my staunch faith is derived. Open your Bible today and be encouraged and strengthened. Pray to God to enlighten you and for the power of the Holy Spirit to give you courage. You cannot go wrong by so doing.

1 Peter 5:7

Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.
