I was laughing with some friends about the adversity I have gone through lately. Just when I think nothing else can happen, it does, and it seemingly has no end. It is nice that I can laugh about it because the adversity is real and tough and many people cannot face adversity and see any humor in it. I have found that adversity can be like a storm. Sometimes it can be like a hurricane that keeps building in intensity until it is a devastating force with which to contend. It strikes with a vengeance and then beautiful blue sky follows. When in the middle of the storm it is hard to focus on the blue sky outcome.
One must stay strong in the face of adversity. There is no force in all of creation stronger than our Lord. Those who have faith in the Lord can remain strong when facing adversity. Those who do not have complete faith in the Lord are often overwhelmed by adversity. Most everyone will end up on their knees when adversity strikes hard. Indeed I believe that is one of the primary reasons that God allows adversity to appear in our lives is in order that we will turn to Him or move closer to Him in our lives. The Bible states that all things can be done through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. Further it states that we should be anxious for nothing, but we should take everything to God in prayer with thanksgiving; then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. If you are facing adversity today, be strong in the Lord and know that He will get you through it in fine fashion.
