I had a glorious, albeit difficult, weekend. I gave my testimony ten different times at a Bill Glass Prison ministry event in Jacksonville Florida. Our small team of 100 plus visited over 3000 inmates and it resulted in 1300 decisions to follow Christ.

It was tiring to speak so many times, but utterly satisfying to watch hundreds of hardened inmates streaming forward to accept Christ after each program. I would give my testimony and then tell the audience that if they wanted Jesus Christ and to enjoy His peace, joy, and love in their hearts, instead of the empty, cold, loneliness that they had now, to come forward and talk to one of our teammates. They would begin to immediately respond and I would head to another unit and repeat the process.

I asked one teammate later how we did in his unit and he told me that every inmate in the entire unit had come forward after I left. It is amazing to see the Lord at work like that I tell you. I asked him how many he personally led to the Lord and he smiled broadly and told me 20. Imagine how that accomplishment made him feel.

The Rolling Stones had a hit song entitled, “I can’t get no satisfaction”. The lyrics grind out “I try and I try and I try, but I can’t get no satisfaction”. All I can say is that they ain’t trying to lead folks to the Lord and if they did they would receive what they are looking for. All of those band members’ money, admiring fans, hit songs, and the sex, drugs, and rock and roll combined cannot satisfy them because nothing of this world can satisfy.

There is however “satisfaction guaranteed” with Jesus and if you don’t believe it be a part of leading just one person out of eternal damnation and into heaven and you will wholeheartedly agree.

The last words ever uttered by Jesus prior to His ascension into heaven were for us to go and witness to the world. It was as though He put four big exclamation points behind this command, because He put it in all four of the Gospels in the last chapters of each book. If you have not obeyed Him and begun witnessing to others, then what does that say about your faith? Jesus will ask you about it one day, so you might want to start thinking about how you will respond.

Tell someone about the difference Jesus has made in your life today and begin your journey of love. You won’t have far to go to find those who are in pain and suffering from the loneliness and chaos in their lives that stems from not having a relationship with Christ, there are plenty of folks who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ including family members, friends, fellow employees, acquaintances and people you don’t know, (and even some of those who sit in the pews with pious looks on their faces).

Selah . . .

Mark 16:15

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
