One of today’s headlines reads:
“Denver student protesters cheered when car struck police officer”
The article reads in part: “four bicycle officers were struck by an automobile at the end of Wednesday’s protests. The Denver Police Protective Association said Officer John Adsit underwent six hours of surgery Thursday for his injuries sustained in the accident. He is in critical, but stable condition. The Denver Post reports students chanted, “Hit him again,” after the officer was struck. The students were mainly marching in support of people protesting the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, who was killed by Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Mo. (Wilson was not indicted on any charges by a Ferguson grand jury last week.)”
We are living in perilous times. The Bible describes the Last Days in Matthew 24:12 as follows: “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold”.
Read this verse carefully and note that is states that “MOST” people’s love will grow cold. It doesn’t say a few, or half, but MOST. A friend of mine recently taught three classes on a college campus in Miami. There were about 30 students in each class and he asked all of them if they believed in good and evil. Three people raised their hands that they believed in that concept. He modified it to simply say, “Well do you believe in bad and good and received the same result. MOST of them don’t even understand love and that is why they chant “HIT HIM AGAIN” when a police officer with a young family is run over by a car.
In 2 Tim. 3:1 the Bible warns us: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers . . .
Where are these children’s parents? What have they taught their children?
Today and tomorrow I go into prisons to minister to lost and tortured souls, 83% of whom were raised in single parent homes under conditions that would make most people shudder. It is understandable to me that these wretches, most of which don’t even have a GED, ended up filled with anger and hate and were eventually incarcerated.
But what is up with these students raised in affluent homes that drive fancy cars to their private schools and were afforded every privilege. What fuels their hatred and anarchy?
Is it their non-belief in good and evil and lack of knowledge of the love of God? They are driven by satanic demonic forces that will send them to hell unless we can somehow reach them.
The evil that is to come after Christ returns to remove His church will make this wickedness seem kind. Imagine what it will be like when no one will be left but evil wicked people. It is described in great detail in prophecies throughout the Bible.
So what are Christians to do? We are to put on the full armor of God and boldly preach the Gospel until Christ’s return for His church while there is yet time. I advise all who are reading this to begin today as the “perilous times” to which God referred are already upon us.
What better way to prepare yourself and your family for the days ahead than to attend Honey Lake Church, (or another church of your liking) this Sunday. It will make for a great weekend!
Eph. 6:10
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
