When terrorists struck on 9/11/2001, I was in my office preparing to go into a meeting with some guys from New York who were already sitting in our board room. My youngest son came into my office and told me the bad news. I had a small television in my office and turned it on just in time to see a plane fly into one of the trade center buildings.

I went in and informed them of what was going on and the meeting was immediately cancelled as they all left and began calling home and trying to find a way to get back to their loved ones. I drove home and began watching it unfold on television.

It was a time of uncertainty and fear. Interestingly people soon began lining up to fill churches all over the country. Sadly that phenomenon stopped just a few short weeks later.

As most of you know I founded The Jesus Alliance, an organization led by marketplace leaders that is dedicated to bringing about a Great Awakening in this country and indeed the world. While some say the church, (body of believers) is too divisive to unite, 9/11 tells us otherwise. When it became obvious that we faced a major crisis people turned to God.

Well how is this for a crisis that should get us back in church? Jesus was asked when He would come back to receive His children. He replied that no one knows the exact time but then He gave signs to them so they would know that it was imminent. Here are some of them that have already happened: The Jews have returned to the Holy Land; Russia (Gog) is growing in military might and preparing to invade from the North; the 200,000,000 man army in Asia that we are warned about is already in place, (China); there are wars and rumors of wars all with guns aimed at Israel, (countries all over the Mideast and Africa); pestilence (Ebola-HIV), famine (874 million starving worldwide); Christians being martyred, (beheadings, rape, torture including crucifixion); church becoming apostate and watering down the word of God in order to appease moderate congregations; hearts of men growing cold; disobedient children; men burning with lust for each other and the same for women; one world government, currency, mark of the beast identifying technology being put in place; earthquakes and disasters occurring more frequently; travel and learning greatly enhanced, and so forth all lend credibility to living in the End Times as fulfilled prophesies in the Bible.

But the end cannot come until the Great Commission has been fulfilled. I want to be a part of fulfilling it and that is entirely an achievable goal. Next week I’m meeting with two guys in California who have reached billions for Christ to make plans to get it done. So my dear friends my recommendation to you is to use your talents and resources to help spread the Gospel and disciple all of the nations and do something constructive. Join the Jesus Alliance and spend your time wisely.

My dear friends we are in a crisis far larger than 9/11. We are slipping down the slippery slope now and nothing can stop it long term. We can receive a reprieve like Josiah did in 2 Chronicles 7:14 fashion, but without the church returning to God the end will occur without delay and trust me the Bible states that event will make 9/11 look like a walk in the park.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
