I got in from a 9 day trip at midnight last night and was exhausted. I usually sleep 2 or 3 hours per night, but I slept a solid 8 hours, (haven’t done that in some time). During my trip I met with dozens of the leading power brokers in this country beginning in Atlanta, then to Dallas, and ending up in Denver.
The purpose of the meetings was to update them on our effort to unite Christians and hopefully gain their support to change the world. Though I’m still a bit loggerheaded and tired this morning, I would characterize my trip as being successful and thus it was all worthwhile.
One person with whom I met is in the very top hierarchy of the Alliance Defending Freedom, (the entity that successfully defended the Hobby Lobby case in the Supreme Court). I was greatly encouraged at something he told me about the effort to stop the slaughter of babies in this country. He cited the number of abortion providers that are going out of business and the overall decline in abortions and those who favor it and the bottom line is that we are beginning to turn the “Red Tide”.
Many abortion providers are feeling the financial pinch due to relentless pressure put on them by groups like Alliance Defending Freedom and my friend told me that it costing them dearly. He said that abortion clinics, (Planned Parenthood), are strictly about making money. He said their legal efforts and lawsuits were helping to put financial pressure on them, but perhaps the most helpful thing that has come down the pipeline was the advent of 3D imaging of sonograms that is available today.
A photo of a baby sucking its thumb only a few weeks after conception is changing hearts and minds faster than anything that preceded it. At last people are beginning to reject the idea that an unborn baby is merely a mass of cells otherwise referred to as a “fetus”. Those who view such an image of a tiny baby sucking its thumb cannot in good conscience kill it, and thus abortions are on the decline everywhere.
I talked to one person in Denver who is trying to help pregnant mothers who broke out crying as she described Planned Parenthood’s recent press release. They callously bragged that “Our numbers are up”. Can you imagine someone gleefully bragging about the record number of abortions, (murders) they had been performed in their clinic as though they were reporting on the quarterly earnings of a major corporation?
Sigh . . .
Speaking of trying to protect innocent kids, I cannot verify this but one official with whom I met on this trip told me that Florida was one of the leading sex trafficking states. Then he unloaded a shocking bit of information; he said that Tallahassee, the state capitol of Florida, was the city in which sex trafficking was the most prevalent. Oh but wait there’s more! It is at its peak when our legislative session is in!
Now if that is true, it stinks to high heaven! This Sunday at Honey Lake Church we have as our speaker one of the leading voices for victims of sex trafficking. She was raped at 11 and forced into drug addiction and prostitution at age 15. She escaped her captors, met Jesus Christ, and went on to earn a PHD and began an acting career. She has testified before Congress and will enlighten us on the reality of what we as a nation are facing from this insidious threat. She is a talented singer/musician and you will not want to miss this special service this coming Sunday beginning at 11.
Finally I ask that you will join me in intense prayer asking for forgiveness and that God will have mercy on us and our nation for allowing such horror to be perpetuated on our children on our watch. How it must grieve Him to see the perversion against our own children in this sick generation. I pray for a Great Awakening and tremendous revival where millions will get on their knees and pray for our nation to come to her senses. God help us all if we fail to do this . . .

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
