We are just a couple of weeks away from the Renewal of America Founder’s Forum whereby leaders from all walks of life will assemble at Honey Lake to try and devise a plan to unite believers into a coalition that will work together in an organized, determined, well-financed, smart, and passionate manner.
United we can take on the enemies of light in this country and around the world and restore faith in God in America and therein make it a place where we can raise our kids in a decent and wholesome environment again.
I’ve talked with hundreds of people all over the United States and some around the world and it has been interesting to see the forces who call themselves “believers”, mostly from organized religion that oppose its formation. (The most support for unity seems to be coming from the faith based business community – Go figure!)
Don’t be deceived as to how formidable their opposition can be, as weird as it seems. In fact some of these believers must be considered as fairly tough obstacles to our success as they influence hundreds of thousands, if not millions, within their organizations.
So why would the leader of a church or faith-based organization resist a movement designed to unite all believers?
Hmmm . . .
Maybe they think they are the church and no one else is part unless they subscribe to their flavor? I’ve been told by more than one that revival must come from the church and they are the church.
Huh?
The Bible definition of the church is the body of Christ, (anyone who has been born again), and Christ is the singular head of His church. So by that definition we have ONE church and anyone who is born again is part of “the church”, and revival could start with anyone, even an ordinary person like Nehemiah, and is not reserved for some privileged guy who has a lush office, wears a frock or smock, carries a scepter, and/or wears a pointy hat that covers their ears. They might think it as “their” church, but the true church is led by none other than Jesus Christ.
Imagine for a moment that you have died and gone to heaven and are looking around and observing things: How many denominations and disparate doctrines do you think you will see in heaven? What will the racial composition be? How many political parties will there be?
Don’t you think the Kingdom of God is unified? Make no mistake believers are the church and no denomination or religious organization can claim it as their own. It belongs to Jesus and we are His “bride”. The church is comprised of businessmen & women, housewives, students, construction workers, athletes, and others who are all believers, including, but not exclusive to the clergy; Jesus made that clear.
We are all human beings and those in organized religion are often biased with the same problems as the rest of the world regardless of any self-righteous posturing. Some have egos as big as Texas; some are political to a fault which runs from radical conservative to radical progressive; some are protective of their “trade secrets and particularly their donor lists; some think they are the smartest guy in the room and everyone else is not enlightened, they have their jealousies, and on and on. We are all after all human beings with weaknesses and frailties, and that is why it makes perfect sense for Christ to be head of his church and not any of us who are fallen and imperfect.
God wants us to follow Him. He told stories that were relevant to the people of the day that were primarily agricultural by nature and they could easily understand His parables. He talked “to people” and not “down to them”. It’s all recorded in the Bible. He understands that we can get further if we are united in His church than off on some tangent. He wants teamwork! Heck he even offers substantial blessings for unity. Check this out: Eph. 1:3 – All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
God did not design racial hatred, political divisiveness, denominations and disparate doctrines and theology, (the things that divide us); mankind did all of those things under the direction of satan and primarily through utilizing his primary tool pride, (egoism, arrogance, smugness, self-importance, conceit, vanity, and superiority).
God want us to serve in humility, (unpretentiousness, humbleness, modesty, meekness, and to be unassuming). He gave each of us His word the Holy Bible to teach us His values and has equipped His church, (you and me) to interpret it correctly ourselves. 2 Peter 5:20 – Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
That means we don’t need any “chosen few” to tell us what to believe. We can read or hear the word of God, the Holy Bible, and determine for ourselves what it means.
The Lord states that the anointing by the Spirit renders ALL of us capable of understanding so that we don’t need anyone to teach us 1 John 2:27 – But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you.
With freedom comes responsibility. First we are required to read God’s word and listen to the Holy Spirit. Matthew 4:4 is an excellent example of its importance. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” In John 6:63, Jesus confirmed this point when he said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” This means that without food we will die. We must eat to live physical lives, and we must hear His words as nourishment for our spiritual lives.
The excuse that we believe a certain way because some church, denomination, group of clergy, family member, or individual interpreted it for us that way is not allowable or acceptable to God at judgment; we are equipped and must do it ourselves
We should read the Bible, interpret what it means, observe what it says, and apply it to our lives. Personally I pray for and believe God will give us unity, which will be a great victory over the satanic divide in this country that prevents believers from accomplishing great things for the Lord. We need unity in order to properly achieve our foremost goal of preaching the Gospel to all nations and making disciples of all who are willing to abide in Him.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
