Yesterday we conducted our first fulltime church service at Honey Lake Church. During the invitation a teenage girl stepped out into the aisle and came forward and then one by one her entire family followed suite. Before it was over seven of them were standing together in front of the alter (including grandpa and grandma). Many tears of joy were shed by this family as they stood and prayed together.
Governor Mike Huckabee has agreed to be our keynote speaker at an exclusive event conducted by the Honey Lake Worldwide Ministry March 17-19 at gorgeous Honey Lake Resort. He will be joined by a host of other great men and women of God including the likes of Dr. David Jeremiah and David Barton, (provided they can work it into their schedules). The theme of the event will be the Renewal of America, and one of the things we will focus on is the breakdown of the family unit and how to turn this problem around.
The result that we desire is the beginning of what we saw at Honey Lake Church on Sunday, only nationwide!
A Faith Symposium addressing this same problem is being held November 6th and 7th in Orlando this week. It is one of those rare times that government, (Florida Department of Children Services) and faith based organizations will join together to find ways to work together to help broken families and the youth that have been affected by the dysfunction of it all. The program delivers multiple sessions on how to link children in foster care to local churches for support, how to inspire struggling youth, faith based foster care, the missing daddy problem, and so forth.
Legendary FSU Coach Bobby Bowden and I are slated to be keynote speakers, (Coach Bowden speaks on Wednesday and I speak on Thursday morning). It is open to the public and we hope to see you there: http://faithsymposium.com/.
The main point I intend to make is that tremendous change can and will begin to happen, but only if Jesus Christ is involved. Families must be Christ centered and be built upon a foundation of using the Holy Bible as their guide to success.
Throughout history many civilizations were completely destroyed when they turned from God and a breakdown of the family unit occurred. The solution is simple, we need to return to God (not just individually, but the entire family must do so). Someone has wisely said, “Families that pray together stay together” and that is a very true statement.
If your family is struggling and heading for, (or already experiencing), serious problems, I suggest that you do as that wonderful family did yesterday; go to a Bible believing/preaching church, and rededicate your entire family to serving God.
November 7th Billy Graham will address the nation for perhaps the last time, (he just turned 95). He will no doubt enumerate the problems that this nation is facing and preach a message of hope through God. I intend to record it and listen to it multiple times.
So many folks want to see this nation turn around and prosper again, but we simply must turn to God before it’s too late. Time is running out. He will save us, and He will mightily bless us, but only if we allow Him into our lives. There simply is no other way!
2 Chron. 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
