I love football but hate one aspect of it . . .
Losing!
It drives me up the wall to see one of the teams that I cherish lose. I get so angry watching a game even my beloved pooch Coopie refuses to sit next to me and will stalk away shaking his head in disgust.
The advent of technology has helped me greatly with my problem. I now prerecord all of the games that I care about on my DVR and then check the scores. If my team wins, then I watch it. If they lose I delete it without enduring the angst of watching them go to the slaughter.
I now watch my games in complete peace and sit back and munch popcorn and swig Coke with a big smile on my face and don’t worry about any of it; (even when my team makes bonehead plays and throws an interception or two). I know they’ll pull it out in the end and things will turn out just fine.
While my detractors may say that’s crazy and takes all of the fun out of it. I disagree and question what kind of demented mind reasons that it’s “fun” to watch their team go down in flames and lose.
The Bible states that God knows what will happen before it happens. Don’t ask me how, because I don’t know, but I do know that reading the Bible enables us to do likewise. It is similar to watching a DVR in my mind in that prophecies are given and then they come true. Hundreds and hundreds of them have already come true and more are unfolding each day.
I for one have tremendous faith in God and His promises to the world that are embedded within His Holy Bible. The Bible assures us that those of us who have decided to follow Jesus Christ will ultimately win the war of this life. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Makes you want to munch some popcorn and swig Coke – Eh?)
Regardless of any bonehead plays we have made in our lives we will be forgiven those transgressions, (thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus), and we shall live forever in peace and harmony in a perfect setting where God Himself will rule over us.

Without faith I think it would be impossible to maintain hope. Living in a United States ruled by Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and a world ruled by monsters like Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong Un, Castro, Mamnoon Hussain, Assad, various clerics and Ayatollahs and other two bit despots and their henchmen all over the world makes things appear hopeless.
Take for example that today the government of the United States will shut down because Obama and crew will not even discuss the issues at hand, much less compromise with the Republicans.
The Republicans want to put off the individual mandate for health insurance for one year. That means the Republicans want to delay for a year the law that forces ordinary folks to buy health insurance. Keep in mind that an exemption has already been granted to big companies and of course most donors to the Obama campaign. Oh yeah too we must not forget that an exemption has also been granted for the Whitehouse, Congress, and the Supreme Court. They all get an exemption and don’t have to give up their current policies in lieu of the government mandated one, but they want to force the rest of us poor slobs to sign up for it or be fined.
Of course most of the press will not paint the picture in the way just presented,; (I have no idea why, because this insane law affects them too!!!)
So does this make you mad? It enrages me. This country was not founded on providing privilege to the chosen few. Everyone should be treated the same. If ObamaCare is so great why don’t the Whitehouse, Congress, and the Supreme Court want to collectively rush right out and sign up for it too? Because it is a disaster; they know it, we know it; everyone knows it. And yet no one will even discuss it.
Iran is denying they want nuclear weapons and Obama is saying, “Isn’t that just swell. Syria is gassing its own people by the thousands and Damascus is being destroyed block by block day in and day out. (Did you know that Damascus is the oldest continually inhabited city in existence and is even mentioned in Genesis? Did you also know that one of the last prophecies to yet be fulfilled is that it will be destroyed just prior to the End Times? Yikes!)
It is at this point that I think about the end of the game and realize that Jesus has already won it and we are just watching it play out. According to the Bible the world will continue getting more and wicked and rulers will become more and more narcissistic and evil right up until that wonderful day that Jesus appears in the sky and with a shout from an archangel we will join Him and thereby avoid the final bloodletting of a world gone mad.
Until then we are to witness to the world. I’m going to do just that this weekend beginning with a prison ministry event in Atlanta and then to Orlando. (If you are going to be near Orlando this Saturday night or Sunday morning I will be giving my testimony at all three services at the 16,000 member First Baptist Church Orlando. Please be praying for me to plant some seeds that will bear fruit before that blessed day of the Rapture.
