Yesterday I received an e-mail from a pastor in West Africa, (Ghana) who sent me 18 names to add to the subscriber list of Words for the Day. It seems strange that people who are so far away can communicate instantly via the Internet.
I believe the Internet is fulfilling prophecy made thousands of years ago by Joel in that it is being used to disseminate the word of God to people who otherwise have no other means of hearing it, save a dream or vision. The Bible states in Joel that “God will pour out His Spirit on the world and that the word of God will be preached to every nation and many will call upon the name of the Lord and be saved and then the end will come”.
Part of our mission statement at the Honey Lake Worldwide Ministry is to help fulfill that prophecy, not just here in the United States, but all over the world. We are working towards establishing our website now and our goal is to offer the hope of Jesus Christ to the hopeless right here in the USA and throughout the globe and reach hundreds of millions of people for the Lord. This pastor in Africa is aware of our Worldwide Ministry calling and has written to me before. Yesterday he wrote:
“Pastor Bob
For all you know your worldwide vision of offering hope for the hopeless has already begun; we are praying for it and may God bless it. Hope to add more lists soon.”
One key statement in that sentence is that his church is praying for us. He told me that in Africa they have prayer warriors that pray 24/7 for weeks at a time petitioning God to take action. From what I understand it is commonplace for churches over there to form prayer groups that pray in that fashion.
Praise God for them!
The results from such activity are astounding and tremendously encouraging. Check out this recent article in USA Today:
“With 2.18 billion adherents, Christianity has become a truly global religion over the past century as rapid growth in developing nations offset declines in Christianity’s traditional strongholds, according to a report released Monday.
Meanwhile, the faith has grown exponentially in sub-Saharan Africa, from just 9% of the population in 1910 to 63% today. Nigeria, home to more than 80 million Christians, has more Protestants than Germany, where the Protestant Reformation began”.
This is much needed encouragement especially when one considers Christianity’s decline in this country and others where it once flourished. God had blessed the USA greatly because of our devotion to Him and founding our once great country under His mighty name. It is sad to see God slowly beginning to turn His back on our nation now as we turn our backs on Him and remove prayer from schools, endorse homosexuality, engage in the murder of babies via abortion, declare pornography and rampant violence free speech, elect leaders who are filled with greed and self-serving interests, and a President who won’t even speak out against Muslims burning down churches and killing Christians in Egypt and elsewhere. Maybe he’s too busy playing card games such as spades in the back room like he was the night our brave Navy Seals took Osama Bin Laden down.
Sigh . . . Sorry I digress – I’m trying to stay positive but am sickened like you probably are by what is happening in the United States these days.
I pray for a revival and the salvation of our nation and also nations like Ireland where Christianity is in total free fall with just 8% of the population now claiming to be followers of Christ and the country being mired in alcoholism, drug addiction, and never-ending violence.
I hope you are like me and want to become even a small part of fulfilling this far reaching important prophecy and help to fulfill God’s command to go and preach the word of God and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. We want to offer God’s hope to those who have none!
On September 7-8 we are having a spiritual weekend with legendary Coach Bobby Bowden at Honey Lake. The festivities will include a sporting clay tournament on Saturday morning followed by a fish fry, a barbeque dinner that will be served later that evening, a VIP reception attended by Coach, a silent and live auction, a concert with the Gospel singers the Sisters, Terry Warren, and Kenny Munds that will thrill your soul, and Coach Bowden, me, and others will speak of God’s wondrous love for us.
Then on Sunday morning Coach Bowden will preach in Honey Lake Church after hearing even more glorious praise music and after church we will dine at the famous Honey Lake brunch and enjoy a day of fun walking around the Honey Lake campus.
All proceeds from the event (after expenses), will all go towards building the website for the Honey Lake Worldwide Ministry. It is our kickoff event for the ministry and we are hoping to raise enough money to begin construction on the website that will reach the entire world for Christ.
My faithful Pastor friend in a very poor section of Africa has it exactly right in that offering the hope of Jesus Christ through our ministry “has already begun”. He is doing his part in praying for it and I’m sure would give anything to attend this wonderful event.
It is my hope and prayer that you will mark these dates on your calendar and reserve a table, (or buy individual tickets) for you, your, family and friends, and support this event and our website financially and/or donate something to the silent auction. If you cannot due to distance, financial problems or whatever, I ask you to do what our friend in Ghana is doing and earnestly pray for its success. In fact even if you do attend the event I ask you to pray for its success. I believe in prayer!
We are already under satanic attack with the event and have experienced some problems here and there, which tells me we are on the right track and going exactly in the direction that we need to go. Make no mistake satan is no match for God and as evidence He is already removing obstacles and putting this event together in such a mighty way as to give me spiritual goose bumps.
In the next few days I will be mailing each of you specific information of how to sign up and it will also be posted on our, www.HoneylakeChurch.com website. Just as soon as we get a few more details nailed down and can put our promotional literature together it will be in the mail. In the meantime please begin praying about it and mark your calendars now to be at Honey Lake on September 7th and 8th! It’s just a few weeks away!
Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
Mark 16:15
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
