It is a special time of year at Honey Lake. Everywhere I go I see babies; baby gators, baby rabbits, baby whitetail fawns, baby wild turkeys, baby squirrels, baby quail, baby purple martins, baby blue birds, baby fish, baby mocking birds, babies, babies, babies . . . Even our cracker cows are getting into the act with a little baby bull kicking up his heels and running all over the pasture.

The lady that takes care of our domestic animals sent me a text with a photo of two little peacock babies not even as big as the mouse sitting next to my computer. Their mama was lying down and the little chicks were standing on her back. It’s hard to imagine that in just a few months that they will stand nearly three feet tall and fan their tails five feet with a gorgeous display.

This Sunday my father celebrates his 92nd birthday and my grandson Ryan celebrates his 3rd birthday on the same day. It’s an amazing renewal plan that God has devised.

I wish everyone, especially those who live in urban areas, could come to Honey Lake for a while and experience God’s awesome creation. Even if they did though, it is no guarantee that they might see God. Yesterday I took some little boys fishing and we were catching fish after fish; not to be outdone an osprey that had been circling overhead dove from a good thirty feet up with wings folded and splashed into the water and then took to the air again with a fish in its feet.

Those little urchins weren’t even impressed and hardly took notice as they continued to cast in every direction, but I did. I thought how wonderfully God had equipped that eagle to even see the fish as it circled high above, much less dive into the water without breaking its neck and latch on to its dinner. It was just way cool . . .

Perhaps you are like those little kids and are too busy going about your business to stop, look, and listen and take notice of God and appreciate the wonder of His marvelous creation. If so, I urge you to slow down enough to drink it in. God is all around us and wants to have fellowship. I’m staying exceedingly busy scurrying around working on my 400 plus projects, but I can tell you I’m enjoying God’s creation too.

Selah! – Stop – Rest – Meditate – Enjoy the wonders of fascinating nature and search for God…Sing: “Open the eyes to my heart Lord – I want to see you . . . Holy – Holy – Holy . . .

Psalms 42:1

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.
