I watched the debate last night and didn’t see any obvious winner on either side. I don’t see that as a big deal. Frankly I have a hard time envisioning anyone not having already made up their mind at this point anyway. The choice is very clear this year.
I received the following from a friend that sums up one of my hero’s, (Billy Graham’s) suggestion for voting:
“Dr. Graham’s office has given permission to spread this vital message far and wide. He has given anyone permission to pay to run this ad in their local paper or to pass out at church, etc.
Your newspaper can get the ad at this link:

(Newspapers can call Paula Woodring at Samaritan’s Purse 828-262-1980 x1121 to verify permissions.)”
I’m sure Dr. Graham couldn’t spell it out for 5013c purposes, but I will. He is encouraging everyone to vote for Mitt Romney this go around because he is the only candidate supporting the Christian positions that he’s spelled out.
Hearing all of the problems in the world and the United States in particular can be discouraging; however we are told not to worry about things. We must keep in mind that God is in control and events are going to proceed according to a perfect plan.
Jesus talked more about worry than any other figure that I can find in the Bible. It seems that He constantly reminded us not to worry and to keep the faith in Him. When you think about it, worry does absolutely no good and in fact is harmful. I believe it’s highly insulting to God, because when we worry we are de facto stating that we don’t trust God fully and want to rely upon ourselves.
Worry can lead to stress and even ulcers. Billions of dollars are spent in treating stress related symptoms such as anxiety, and depression. That is money that could be better spent elsewhere like in helping to actually solve our problems instead of sitting around whining about them.
I tell people to keep their faith that God is good all of the time and advise that they work and don’t worry. Work is productive and produces results. I have done about all I know to do in campaigning for Mitt Romney. I will vote for him and regardless of how the election unfolds I know in my heart that I’ve done all I can and the rest is in God’s capable hands. If Obama gets re-elected, I will be disappointed, disgusted, and madder than a hornet, but I will know in my heart that God is still in control of my life and that after this little vapor of a life has dissipated and is long gone, I will spend all of eternity in heaven with Jesus.
I don’t want my kids and grandkids to have to suffer through a United States that turns to socialism, but I trust in the Lord. Vote your conscience on November 6th.
Matt. 6:27,34
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
