I read the other day that Hitler believed that the state “Would have to be scrubbed clean of all Christian convictions and values”. School prayers were banned, Nativity plays and carols were forbidden, and in 1938 the name Christmas was changed to Yuletide and moved to December 21st. Crucifixes were eliminated from classrooms and Easter was turned into an event that welcomed the arrival of spring. All in an effort to create a “Positive Christianity” to be more compatible with the state’s commitment to the “greater good”. Article 24 of the party platform demanded, “liberty for all religious denominations in the state, so far as they are not a danger… to the moral feelings of the German race.”

Sound familiar?

We’ve long seen X’Mas instead of Christmas and now it is the norm to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. President Obama’s administration declared that the Whitehouse Christmas tree is now a “Holiday tree”; this after he refused to conduct a national day of prayer at the Whitehouse. The Ten Commandments are gone as is school prayer.

I read yesterday that a New Jersey school administrator decreed that any reference to God, Jesus, Santa, and Christmas must be removed from any music program in place of music that would not be “belief-specific.” This forced the music director to search for “holiday” songs that might meet the school’s criteria. He could only come up with a handful of selections. Among those making the cut – “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Marshmallow World.”

I’ve watched with interest how legendary college football star and Heisman winner Tim Tebow, (who happens to be the son of missionaries and a devout Christian who gives God all of the credit for his successes both on and off the field) is being treated by the media and even other NFL players. Most have declared him to be a Neanderthal with little talent and said that he will never be a good NFL quarterback. This in spite of the fact that since he took over the starting position as quarterback of the Denver Broncos, the team has won six out of seven games, (they had lost all of their games prior to him taking over).

I’m surprised at the animosity of some of the other players towards him. Tebow often bows his head and prays on the sidelines, particularly after a good play. Now a few defensive players mock his faith by kneeling in a simulated prayer after they tackle him or disrupt one of his plays. Last month, former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer said in a radio interview that Tebow should cut back on his references to Jesus.

Tebow was quick to reply.

He said, “If you’re married and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to her ‘I love you’ the day you get married?’. Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and at every opportunity?

And that’s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ. It is the most important thing in my life. So any time I get an opportunity to tell him that I love him or am given an opportunity to shout him out on national TV, I’m going to take that opportunity. And so I look at it as a relationship that I have with him that I want to give him the honor and glory anytime I have the opportunity. And then right after I give him the honor and glory, I always try to give my teammates the honor and glory.”

Bravo! I admire his courage to stand up for his convictions and His Savior.

Satan must be very proud of the progress that he’s made in the war against Christ in this country. Have you been won over? Has political correctness brainwashed you as Hitler brainwashed the German race? Do you say Happy Holidays? Do you celebrate our diversity as a nation instead of the birth of our Savior?

I have often wondered what it would have been like to choose sides in the civil war. In some cases brother fought against brother, father against son, and friend against friend. The Bible indicates that our struggle is similar. I don’t know what your belief system is at this point in your life, but the Bible allows no room for compromise and no one will be allowed to sit on the fence. We must either choose Christ or the world, but we cannot have it both ways.

I choose Christ and like Tim Tebow I will stand up for him until the “last dog dies”, even if our country continues in this downward spiral and I’m mocked and ostracized for my love of Christ. Or if in my lifetime I see it turn extreme and hatred for Christians means I have to go to prison or be executed for my belief system, then so be it.

Do you think it can’t happen? Read your Bible concerning the “End Days”. Read your history books about Hitler, Stalin, Chavez, and Ahmadinejad.

Stand up for Christ today! Those who want to be politically correct can gleefully sing “Marshmallow World”. I just hope that after the war has been waged and the victory won that they don’t end up being skewered on a stick and roasted like a smore forevermore.

Merry Christmas!

Matt. 10:21

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.”
