For those of you who have written and asked, the seminar was well attended and all of the attendees, (with whom I spoke), told me it was beneficial and they had a great time. I thank those of you who attended as well as those who prayed for its success. I’m sorry if you missed it, we did not record it, and I don’t know when, I might have time to conduct it again. If however you would like to attend at a later date, please write to us, and if we ever schedule another, I’ll keep your name on file and let you know.

Our Sunday school lesson yesterday was centered on the verse in Romans 13:1 “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

As anyone who regularly reads this daily devotional knows I do not think of, or speak highly of our president and/or the leadership of the Democratic Party. I sincerely believe they are destroying our country just as surely as the sun rises in the east. Paul wrote the foregoing verse during a time when the Romans were in power. They were pagans and they were cruel, and did not have a high opinion of Christians and were not tolerant of their belief system; they ruled with an iron fist. While our current situation is bad, it’s not as bad as theirs yet, so we should take note of this verse and the conditions that surrounded Paul as it was written.

Contrast the Wall Street protestors with the Tea Party. Neither group likes the government, but the former act like a bunch of unruly, lawless, anarchists, and the latter peacefully protests in full acquiesce (or acceptance) of the laws of the land, and most even carry American flags while they protest. The lesson taught by Paul was that godly people will always be found to be the quiet and the peaceable in the land even when ruled by those who are hell bent on bringing about “change” that goes against everything they hold near and dear.

This does not mean that we are to remain the silent majority (or minority as the case might be). I read just yesterday that the government is trying to force nurses to assist with abortions which they morally object to as being the equivalent of murder of an innocent child. Should they submit to the authorities and do such a thing? There is plenty of Scripture throughout the Bible that states otherwise and personally I wouldn’t assist with performing an abortion even if they held a gun to my head. I don’t want my tax dollars paying for one either.

I believe that more people should speak out against evil regardless of whether it is politically correct or not. Martin Luther King Jr. is an example of someone who advocated non-violent peaceful demonstration in an effective manner. Although his peaceful protests were more often than not met by brute force, in the end his movement did “overcome” through mainly non-violent protests and racial equality was born in this country. When I was a child there were “colored” bathrooms and separate water fountains, and black people had to sit in the back of the bus and their section was marked by a sign that said: “colored”; today our president is black and one of the leading contenders to replace him is black. This shows that law abiding non-violent protests can work.

In today’s society evil forces are at work. Murder of an innocent child is legal and is now called a “choice”. Billy Graham said of the legalization of abortion: “If God doesn’t punish America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”  God is not apologizing for anything and I believe we are being punished in this country today and if things don’t change soon, hold onto your hats, it will get much worse.

My point today is that Billy is no anarchist, and he pays his taxes and obeys the laws, but he speaks out against the evil that is overcoming our nation. We should do likewise.

How about homosexuality? Our society calls it being “gay” implying that it is gleeful and fun and condones it in the media and in Hollywood; the Bible refers to it as an “abomination” and a dark sin. Pornography is called “free speech”; removing God from schools and public life is called “separation of God and state”. Call it what you will, but God and His Holy laws are being replaced with carnal evil.

As Christians we should speak out about such things and use our vote to remove those that strongly believe that what is wrong is right, and what is right is wrong out of office. That does not mean we should try to assassinate those with whom we disagree, or use violence to restore sanity and Christian values to the land. It means that we should organize, protest, register other like minded people to vote, and financially support God fearing candidates. Most importantly, we should band together and vote the bums out.

Submit to Obama???

Gag, puke, spit, burp…. I will go peacefully, but I don’t like it and I will protest until I go toe up….

Romans 12:21

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
