It seems that 83% of our population dislikes our governmental leaders. I would imagine that the percentage of those who dislike politics is much higher even than that. In fact I would be willing to guess that only politicians themselves like politics. That makes it all the more ironic, even a paradox, that so many allow politics to rob them of God’s blessings. It’s an absurdity.
Politics presents an insurmountable obstacle to reconciliation with God in a number of ways, none more glaring than being “politically” correct. No one likes politics but everyone seems to want to be politically correct.
Huh?
Gays, free speech pornography, and abortion just get the ball rolling. How about our illustrious president Obama declaring that the United States is no longer a Christian nation in his all inclusive inaugural address, and then later ending the Bush-era National Prayer Day service at the White House.
I wasn’t too happy about that piece of news, but David Silverman, national spokesman for the organization American Atheists, told CNN: “We are very happy he did away with the George W. Bush-era prayer celebrations and party”. Now that’s politically correctness at its finest.
I frequently speak to business groups and invariably a couple of people from the audience hang around until the others have left and then confide in me privately that they are believers and want to know how they should deal with their belief system in the workplace.
My response is always to go to the Bible for answers to any question, especially the tough ones. Jesus said that He will deny us before the Father if we deny Him among men. I take Him at His word on that.
I credit God for dramatically changing my life for the better. If everything good in my life comes from God, why should I hide in the closet? I spoke at the Inc. 500 awards conference (right after Obama’s Secretary of Commerce) and told all of those thousands of executives, that faith based businesses work and Jesus Christ got me where I am and I’m not about to turn my back on Him now. I gave Him the credit, (as He deserved), for whatever success I had gleaned.
Sometimes the results are different than you might expect. That crowd gave me the only standing ovation of all of the keynote speakers. The Secretary of Commerce on the other hand barely got a few half hearted claps, ( and those were probably from the large government entourage that accompanied him).
Of course the workplace is not a church and is a place to…well…work. However whenever you opened the elevators on any floor at our company you would see the Ten Commandments. Maybe some folks didn’t like it, but I know that Jesus Christ did. I didn’t run up and down the halls thumping on a Bible trying to proselytize my employees, but I had a Bible on my desk. Not for show, but because I used it throughout the day, especially in the morning, when I wrote Words for the Day and sent it to every employee that wanted to receive it – five days a week – year in and year out.
I once went to New York City for a major presentation. Most of the attendees were Jewish, but I went in there wearing a cross on my lapel. How politically correct is that?
Not very, and I didn’t get that contract either. But I’ve received plenty of others, and God has blessed me so enormously that I cannot begin to complain about anything.
Basically I’m not selling out to the almighty dollar and I don’t care what non-believers, (or believers with a politically correct agenda), think of me. I’m not ashamed of Jesus Christ; He’s my Father and best friend. I don’t apologize for His Holy Bible where it states that divorce, homosexuality, abortion, and banning God from all areas of public life is wrong.
I strongly believe this country has prospered as none other on earth, (with the exception of Israel when they had leaders who loved and obeyed God). I believe that God has blessed us because we were “One Nation Under God” and that our forefathers kept God in the forefront of every aspect of their lives. They even imprinted our currency with: “In God we trust”.
My prayer is that we will have an awakening in this country whereby we will return to God and He will heal our land instead of destroy it, (which seems to be the direction we are heading at breakneck speed). It is my firm belief that Obama and his liberal cronies are ushering in more than insurmountable debt with their inclusive politically correct policies that cater to atheists and are afraid to label as radical Muslims those who hate us and want to destroy us for fear that someone in Islam might be offended. They are ushering an insurmountable obstacle to enjoying God’s blessings.
Today I hope you will tell at least one person, (proudly and loudly), that you love Jesus Christ. Come by Honey Lake Plantation and I’ll be glad to discuss Jesus with you and I don’t care who overhears us talking, and/or how much business it costs me or who doesn’t like it. You see I report to Jesus Christ and not some politically correct person that thinks I’m some kind of right wing fanatically evangelical nut!
I am a nut. I’m nuts about Jesus.
Matt. 10:33
But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.
