Gender changing is not where it’s at

I was talking with a friend over the weekend about attaining significance in our lives. It is one of the topics of my upcoming Success Seminar in November. I told him that the average lifespan is 77.9 years and I’ll be 65 in November. That means that I only have a little less than 13 years (on average) to obtain significance before I go “toe up” and return to dust.

What pray tell should I focus on?

Hmmm… Considering that eternity is forever, I would think I need to primarily focus on it. The Bible states that God thought about us long before we were born. He designed us with His purpose for our lives in mind. He equipped us with the proper looks, gender, intellect, physical stature, and wherewithal to accomplish that purpose. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…Jer. 1:5

We were created to serve at His good pleasure and nothing would make me more happy than to hear Him say at my judgment, “Well done my good and faithful servant”, and know that I hit it out of the park for Jesus using all of the skills that He equipped me with.

It stands to reason that anyone with a semblance of intelligence should almost exclusively pursue accomplishing God’s purpose for their lives with reckless abandon, because time…well time is running out. For sure we have to pay bills, eat, and provide for our families, but we should also focus on eternal things too…

Most of us however spend our time flitting around worrying about this or that; chasing more dollars; fighting for that next big deal; trying to obtain cars, boats, planes; worrying about our football team and its inability to win every game; fretting over who won American Idol; or wasting time and money visiting plastic surgeons to change our looks like Michael Jackson; or even switching genders like Chastity Bono; or perhaps agonizing like I do over numbskulls who are ruining our once great country like President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the liberal media that distorts.

What a waste of time. I hate it when I get caught up in it. When we enter into God’s presence we will be judged according to what we did on this planet with the time God allotted to us. My buddy and I were both just a wee bit apprehensive in discussing this situation. I have no doubt that I will agonize and shed some tears when my life is replayed in front of Jesus who went through so much for me (and I’m not just talking about the first 24 years either).

I don’t know about you, but I intend to do some serious soul searching in the upcoming days and weeks and redouble my efforts to plant even more seeds and help out with God’s harvest of lost souls in any manner that I can. I firmly believe my purpose is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ wherever, whenever, and however I can and I’m going to find even more ways to do that with whatever time and resources that I have left.

Have you figured out your purpose?

Psalms 139:16

“Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
