A friend of mine wrote the other day and said she and her husband took their kids to Disney World last Friday evening. As they strolled through the park they noticed many people wearing red tee shirts and then she was aghast when she saw men holding hands with men and women with women. Some of them were kissing each other.

Unbeknownst to them Disney was conducting National Gay Day at the Magic Kingdom. She was sick to her stomach at some of the perversion she was witnessing and she also feared for her children from sexual predators, so they beat it out of there and went home.

Afterwards she went online and discovered that this is an annual event that lasts the entire first week of June. Over 10,000 gays come from all over the world and promote and exhibit immoral behavior in front of thousands of young children and their families. (Most of which, like this family, are unsuspecting of the Event, because Disney doesn’t share this information with anyone).

My friends are, (were) annual pass holders in the elite status, and had NEVER received a notice for the first week of June being a celebration of gays and lesbians. Imagine a family coming half way around the world, and spending big sums of money on their once a year family vacation only to be subjected to spending their time with thousands of homosexuals in a children’s theme park.

I sent my friend’s e-mail to my sons to warn them not to take their children there to vacation during the first week of June, and within minutes I received a response from my youngest son that unfortunately one of his best friends had taken their children and were vacationing at the Magic Kingdom at that very moment.

Walt Disney has to be flipping in his grave.

Today I talked with a buddy who belongs to the Presbyterian Church. He was rather dejected because the church’s national governing body had recently taken a vote and approved same sex marriage, and the ordination of gays to the clergy and women to serve as elders within the church. Coincidentally I got an e-mail from a reader who told me that he left the Episcopal Church and joined the Anglican Church because of the same situation.

Sigh… It seems that much of the world is beginning to accept homosexuality and other political hot topics and in fact welcome it with open arms into our modern society. (This is hardly a modern idea, Sodom and Gomorrah existed in Abraham’s day.) The Bible states that homosexuality is a sin; in fact it calls it an abomination. Leviticus 18:22: You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.  Leviticus 20:13: If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.

Hmmm… Everyone sins and we are not to be judgmental; however the Bible does give us guidelines concerning selecting the leaders of the church such as bishops/elders/deacons/pastors. There is no ambiguity about these qualifications. Rather, they are simple, straightforward statements. The deacon/bishop/elder/pastor should be a male, the husband of one wife, (not a gay “partner”), of sterling character and one who rules his own home in a biblical way. These qualifications also presuppose that one seeking such an office is a born-again believer and walks in submission to God’s Word. Being faithful to the Word enables these men to be able to teach and convince others of God’s truth.

The Apostle Paul put it like this: 1 Tim 3:1: “This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.”

These are not offices to be taken lightly. The Lord Jesus Himself in 1 Peter is called the “Shepherd and Bishop of our souls” . I’m sorry but I don’t see any mention of women serving in these positions or gays. That is not to say that they cannot serve in other capacities; it is to say that God states in His word that they cannot serve in these positions.

Okay so to me it boils down to whether or not someone wants to pick and choose the parts of the Bible they want to believe, or simply believe the entire Bible. The Bible says of itself that it does not change and is the same today as it was 1000 years ago, or will be 1000 years from now. God’s laws are God’s laws; they do not change with societal whims and political correctness. I find that refreshing, especially whenever I watch politicians twisting in the political winds trying to tell people whatever they think they want their “itching ears” to hear.

The Bible tells us specifically not to change the Bible to suit our needs. Deut. 4:2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. Changing the word of God is exactly what these churches are currently doing, is it not? What is next, are they going to restore prostitutes and orgies to the temple?

You may scoff or laugh at this, but who would have believed that churches would be sanctifying same sex marriages even twenty years ago, or allowing a homosexual to become a bishop. Personally I think it is satanic to pervert the word of God. Satan is attacking our churches, schools, media, Hollywood, and music in all out spiritual warfare and it looks to me like he is gaining the upper hand which is prophesied to happen prior to the Rapture.

You on the other hand may take a different position on these issues which is indeed your prerogative. I don’t however, want to hear you rail at me about me being close minded about women’s lib, gay lib, or lib-lib; please understand this is not my message; it comes directly from God via the pages of the Bible. Read it for yourself and argue with the written word and if so inclined, Almighty God, but not little ol’ me.

As for me I believe the Bible to be the unerring word of God and I base my entire heart, soul, mind, and body in my unending faith in its truths. The Bible is the firm foundation of my faith. There are those who want to believe the parts that they like and discount the parts they don’t like; I’m not among them. The Bible states that we should do so at our own peril.

Lest you think this is some small thing take a look at how the Bible ends with a stern warning not to take anything away from or add one word to it, or face removal from the Book of Life. After reading this you might want to strongly petition these governing bodies of your denomination, or seek out a Bible based church that abides by ALL of God’s commands…

Rev. 22:18

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
