Well here it is the day before Christmas and some of us still haven’t bought all of the presents that we need to buy and will brave the cold, traffic, and crowded stores today to do that last minute frenzied shopping.
What is the most important gift on your list this year? Your parents? Your spouse? Fianc? Kids? Friend?
Hmmm. It is after all Jesus Christ whose birthday we will be celebrating tomorrow. Have you thought about what to buy for HIm? Hmmm…. He already has everything imaginable and even unimaginable…
What to buy? What do I get for someone who has everything?
I know something, how about giving Him the thing He wants most this year?
You!
The Bible relates the birth of Christ from an interesting viewpoint. The wise men (Magi) offered three gifts to Jesus gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Mt 2:11) All three gifts that were offered are appropriate offerings for royalty and God gives us this story of the Magi to reveal His truth: that his Son Jesus is the King of kings whose message is to be proclaimed to the entire world.
So-o-o-o if you want to give a gift that “keeps on giving”, first put your own complete trust and faith in Jesus Christ our King of kings, and then spread the Good News to everyone else you can. God will smile down on you with a smile that is bigger and brighter than any of those millions of kids who will walk in at daylight in the morning and light up when they see all those presents that Santa left last night I guarantee it.
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
