Going duck hunting in the morning so your WFTD is coming earlier than usual

I often hear, “Just do what comes natural”. Hmmm What comes natural is often contrary to God’s will for our lives. Do you know anyone who “naturally” wants to forgive someone who has wronged them? I don’t. Most people, me included, want to get even. If we are to forgive it takes work.

And so it is with natural man (or woman). More often than not we must fight our natural inclinations in order to avoid sin. Anyone who thinks it is easy to have a good marriage, raise God fearing happy children, be a giving and righteous person is probably delusional. It takes work. The Bible states that it is difficult living the life of a Christian. Matt. 7:13 – “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

Does this mean it is too difficult and we might as well give up? Not at all, for what may be difficult or even impossible for us is simple to the Lord. Phil. 4:13 states it best, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

Turn your life over to Him and pray for His guidance. It works. And by the way, the verse in Matt. 7:13 refers to the “NARROW gate”. The narrow gate is Jesus Christ. We must enter into righteousness and eternal life through Him and only through Him. It may seem politically incorrect and non-inclusive because it does not include Buddha, Allah, or other false Gods, but He is the one who sacrificed His life on the cross and paid the penalty for our sins. And that my friends assures us all that when He states that He stands at the door of our hearts and knocks so that any who so desires may enter and dine at His table, you best be washing your hands and getting to the dinner table if you want to eat because there is no other way.

Psalms 16:11
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
