I remember one time as I walked out of jail and how happy I was to be free and thankful to my brother for pawning his wife’s wedding ring in order to come up with enough money to bail me out. The other prisoners tried to smile at my good fortune as I was exiting the cell, but their own plight prevented them from getting too overjoyed.
My Aunt Betty was freed from the prison of her worn out, failing body and her suffering ended when her life expired at 3 am on Saturday morning and she was freed by Jesus Christ. He claimed her as His own, bought and paid for on an old rugged cross over 2000 years ago.
She’s in paradise with Him now and is no doubt experiencing joy as she has never known it. We are left behind for now and must patiently serve our time. We try to smile, but must consider our own plight and it is difficult to become too overjoyed.
Make no mistake we are thrilled that she is in heaven, but it is often difficult to think of others at a time like this when we are still stuck in this world controlled by satan, is it not?
No time for despair though for He has promised that He will come quickly I will keep focused on her good fortune as I pray for my father nwho must now serve out the rest of his time trapped in a body overcome with Parkinson’s Disease. Satan wants him to think he is all alone now, but I remind him that the Comfortor draws close at times like this.
Rev 3:11
I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
