I had a lady apply for a job the other day. She wanted to know what kind of astrological sign I was. I suppose she wanted to know if we were compatible. The newspaper has everyone’s fortune based on their birthday posted each day. Some people follow these astrological charts “religiously”. Most have a passing interest. The Bible is very clear that we should not try to predict the future by studying the stars. It does not say that it cannot be done, it says not to do it. I have never studied this subject in the Bible, but am interested in trying to discern why this is against the rules. In my pre-Christian days I was heavily involved with it and it is uncanny how accurate it was for me.

I have found many references and warnings about this subject in the Bible, but haven’t made time to study them. I can only assume that God wants us to rely on Him and not try to predict the future on our own or by using the occult in any format. The occult is ruled by satan and his demonic forces and the Bible lumps astrology in with other things such as consulting with mediums, listening to fortunetellers, sorcerers, psychics, and wizards. As with many things of satan it appears harmless on the surface and we may not understand where the “harm” in participating in something like this is, but God is always right. When He warns us not to do something, there is a very good reason for it even if we do not understand it.

I guess we were not compatible, I didn’t hire her.
