How does the judge see it?

For those of you who have asked, thanks for inquiring about the status of my book. I am still working on it, albeit I have been delayed by undergoing two major surgeries in the past month. I still plan to release it early this summer and I look forward to everyone getting a copy, because I truly believe it will help a lot of people.

A friend of mine invited me to a cookout last night. I have been feeling awful since my surgery and really did not feel up to it; however his honored guest was none other than Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia who has been spending the past few days turkey hunting on his plantation along with a few cronies, most of whom are judges too.

I have long been an admirer of Justice Scalia who is noted as the most conservative Supreme Court Justice and I decided that I did not want to miss out on meeting him and that I would just get tough and go to the dinner party whether I felt like it or not. Not long after I got there I had the pleasure of meeting him. I told him that I was an admirer of his and happy that someone who respected the constitution as deeply as he did was on the Court. My host, who is a reader of WFTD, told Justice Scalia that I was just a wee bit right of center in my political thinking and then he grinned sardonically.

We shook hands and I noticed that the judge had an unusually firm handshake for such a small man. He stands about five feet nothing and is a little on the pudgy side. He had on Bermuda shorts and like most people from up north who wear Bermuda shorts once or twice a year; his legs looked like they were bleached whiter than snow. It was quite the contrast between the dignified flowing black robe that we see on news clips that he wears on the bench, but he seemed very comfortable and no doubt was enjoying himself immensely as he sucked down one raw oyster after another. I spent a couple of minutes talking to him primarily about turkey hunting. He had bagged his gobbler early that morning and went over every detail with me.

One of my friends at the party asked him how the newspapers treat him and whether what they write about him is fair. He quirked, “It depends on the newspaper. If it is the New York Times, I don’t fare too well. Other newspapers are more fair minded”.

The New York Times’ special brand of distortion of the facts makes me sick to my stomach. I can only imagine how their outright distortions of facts must make a Supreme Court Justice feel, not to mention how it must make this Supreme Court Justice feel to see the corruption in the administration and congress. For example it must really be disheartening to a judge dedicated to truth and justice to see the corrupt methods used to pass the health care bill. The sick deal-making and buying of votes that just took place behind closed doors had to make this judge who sits on the highest court of the land particularly nauseous.

I was sorely tempted to ask him about it, but decided not to spoil his evening. Soon enough he would be back in the snake pit of Washington D.C. with its hordes of liars and corrupt politicians. As for now, the only lies being told might be a slight exaggeration of how deftly his turkey was called in and what a great shot he made.

On the way home I thought that God, the true high judge of the land, sees it all too and is disgusted just like we are only worse. The Bible tells us that one day He will right every wrong. What a day of great rejoicing that will be. I look forward to that day when the lies suddenly stop on command by our Lord and savior.

In the meantime and until that blessed day all we can do is hope and pray that Justices like Anthony Scalia outnumber those who would destroy our legal system and great country with corruption and lies

Psalm 7:11
God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day.
