Pain on the inside anyone?

My hands hurt all of the time due to arthritis. When I went to Cabo recently and began reeling in marlin after marlin, (seven in all), I got to thinking that it wouldn’t be long before I would have to give up the deep sea fishing that I love because of the excruciating pain in my hands. I can barely hold a rod and reel on a big fish anymore. In fact when we got ready to come home I could not even use my thumb to release the handle on my carry-on luggage due to the biting pain.

To look at my hands one would never imagine how much pain they cause me. They look a little gnarled and scarred up, but it isn’t noticeable at all for someone my age. It may not be noticeable from the outside, but it HURTS on the inside I tell you!

My knuckles hurt again this cold morning as I am getting ready to go get in my deer stand, and it made me think of all of the people in this world who are hurting on the inside, but to look at them from the outside it’s barely noticeable. Oddly Christmas can be a sad time for many people when it should be cause for tremendous joy and celebration. No not because Santa is comin’ to town, but because Jesus Christ was born and His sacrifice overcame the death and destruction in this world.

If you know someone who is living with the pain of this old world, cheer them up with the good news of Jesus Christ this morning. After all ’tis the season to be jolly, (sing with me), La La La La La La La. La La La La La La

Mark 1:15
“The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel.”
