A friend of mine who owns a large car dealership in Detroit Michigan told me yesterday that his business is booming.

My response, “Wow! In this economy? How do you manage that?”

Then he told me that our illustrious federal government had a great idea. They are giving a $4500 trade in to every person who brings an old clunker to his car lot. The only requirements are that the car must get less than 18MPG and one must have owned the car for at least a year and had insurance during that time.

He told me that over 500 people had come through his doors in just two days and he was selling hundreds of cars. He beamed, “People are bringing in cars worth $100 or $200 bucks and getting a $4500 trade-in courtesy of Uncle Sam. This is just great!”

How nice. So that is where all of my tax money has been going. Well maybe not all of it. There are plenty of other mind boggling give-away programs of nearly every description. Just stick out your hand and some liberal will fill it to capacity provided that you will promise your vote to them. Trillions of dollars are being given away ensuring that our grandkids will be indentured for life.

How much is a trillion? Or a billion? Most people cannot even envision how much money a million is and yet our government is spending hundreds of millions a minute, billions per hour in order, (in the words of our new President), to help spread it around a little.

We are quickly transforming our country back into a welfare state and there are far too many give-away programs to enumerate or rant about here. Suffice it to say that the liberal’s day has come and they are taking full advantage.

In case you are wondering the Bible instructs us to assist those who truly cannot provide for themselves such as widows and the sick. What about those who are capable of working, but prefer to sit on the porch drinking beer and collecting their welfare check?

2 Thess. 3:10
If anyone will not work,
neither shall they eat.
