The grinding stone

A good friend of mine visited my farm yesterday and told me that he believes that we Christians will be persecuted in the United States for our belief system within our lifetimes. Hmmm. Before you dismiss this as a radical idea, think about it. The mainstream media already is labeling anyone with a Bible based belief system as a right wing fanatic and publically ridiculing us every night on most any news broadcast. Hollywood is even worse. Isn’t that a form of persecution in itself? Sadly he may just be right.

I got e-mail from someone yesterday that is in two words, “simply crazy”. This person believes that our country was founded by atheists among other things and his “ranting” included a diatribe that stated that I desire a theocracy which has been the root of all evil since the beginning of the world. He went on to espouse all kinds of junk that he found on the Internet in order to support his various anti-Christ positions. I did not bother to respond because it is a useless endeavor to try and argue with someone whose mind is already made up and is so twisted with hate towards God and Biblical principles.

Hmmm He is right about one thing though, and that is I would love to see a theocracy established; however not just in the United States, but *worldwide*. When Jesus returns He will setup a worldwide theocracy and rule from His throne in Israel and the world will know peace for 1000 years. I cannot wait until that blessed day!

In the interim I would like to see a country led by God fearing men and women who understand that the very air that we breathe is furnished by our Lord and Savior. I openly and proudly admit that I would love to see a country where Biblical principles are the basis for our daily lives. I know it will never happen without divine intervention and am resolved to anxiously awaiting the only one who can make it happen, the Lord.

It is maddening and frustrating sometimes to see what is happening in the world and particularly in this country that we love. The Bible tells us not to despair, but to rejoice in the Lord and “shout” for joy. It plainly states that evildoers will be cut down like withered grass, but for those of us who trust in the Lord and do good; “He shall give you the desires of your heart”.

Trust and obey my friends and don’t let the hardened stones and those who use them grind you down

Psalm 37:10
For yet a little while
and the wicked shall be no
more
But the meek shall inherit the
earth
And shall delight themselves
in the abundance of peace.
