I was watching the news last night and a report came across about Christians that were being rounded up and arrested in Iran simply because they are Christians. Their nutty leader wants anyone who converts from Islam to any other religion to be executed. Christians must secretly meet in “house” churches in order to avoid persecution. Owning a Bible is a serious offense.

Women are brutalized in that country. A woman who wore make-up was executed, (What would they think about Michael Jackson?). Others who did not have their head covered properly, or did not have socks on underneath their Burma, (full length body covering), were severely punished.

How lucky we are in this country to have freedom. We can worship as we like, we can come and go wherever and whenever we so desire, dress the way we prefer, and enjoy our country’s greatest pastime, (criticizing everything about our great country and its leaders to anyone who cares to listen). So many people do not realize how blessed we are to live in this great country; the land of the free. Sometimes I think the idiot warring politicians are the biggest ingrates of all.

None of us can thank God enough for allowing us the privilege to live in the United States. I would ask you today wherever you are to pray for those Christians who are being persecuted throughout the world and to thank God for this great country and for her freedoms. Go to church this Sunday and read your Bible daily; you are the envy of a world trapped in evil and darkness. Pray that the Lord will draw near to those being persecuted for their belief system and to save them as He has saved you

Psalm 34:18
The Lord is near to those who
have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a
contrite spirit.
