Not a coincidence

I enjoy getting feedback from writing Words for the Day, especially when I hear that someone has benefitted from it in some way. I began writing WFTD in 2000 and through the years have become accustomed to people writing me and telling me that whatever subject I had written about that particular day specifically addressed the need that they had in their lives at that particular time.

With that said it still makes the hair stand up on my neck to see God working in my life and in the lives of others. Some will chalk it up to coincidence; however through the years I have seen this phenomenon occur almost on a daily basis and know that God is steadfastly working in all of our lives every day. Sometimes it is rather eerie in that I feel strongly led to write about something to the point of not being able to sleep until I write about it, and then in a few hours receive an e-mail from someone telling me that I just described the exact situation they were facing and they appreciated me writing about that subject.

In fact I just wrote about a lady tragically dying in an accident yesterday. By the end of the day yesterday a close friend had informed me that his family had suddenly and tragically lost a loved one in a freak accident last weekend whereby his fianc’s mother had fallen off a cliff to her death in New Zealand and they were going through the process of trying to cope with the sadness of their loss. He thanked me for writing it as he stated they received comfort from it.

According to the Bible God works in mysterious ways and we are told that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”. The Bible assures us that the Holy Spirit of God who lives within us leads us and further bears witness with our spirit that we are “children of God”, (Romans 8:14-16).

As a parent I understand how much I love my children (and grandchildren). We should always keep in mind that as believers we are the “children of God”, and are loved by Him with a love that cannot even be compared to the love we have for our children, (as strong as that might seem). Logically if one considers that God is our loving Father, we should gain comfort in knowing that He is aware of everything concerning us and is earnestly working, (often behind the scenes), to make things “work together for good” for His children, (to those of us who love and trust in Him). What loving father would not want to care for and protect his children? How much more so would God feel this way?

I gain comfort in the knowledge that I am not alone in this tough world and my Father in heaven understands my needs and my weaknesses and is actively engaged in helping me, (not just to cope), but to find happiness, joy, and fulfillment in this life and the next and to find peace that surpasses all human understanding. God has many resources at His disposal and He uses all of them to accomplish His purpose to assist us in ways of which we are not even cognizant.

Did you know that includes personally praying for the right things for our life of which we are not aware and in a manner that we cannot even pray as we should? What a mighty God we serve

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helps in
our weaknesses. For we do not
know what we should pray for as we
ought, but the Spirit Himself makes
intercession for us with groaning
which cannot be uttered.
