Molded for a purpose

One of the things I most enjoy in life is giving. I personally believe that giving is one of the most rewarding things one can do. The Bible teaches that we should all be “cheerful” givers.

It is sometimes difficult to be a cheerful giver is it not? I remember when I was younger and under immense financial pressure how difficult it seemed to tithe at the time. I needed that money to pay bills and care for my young family, but in my heart I knew that my tithe was God’s money and not mine to spend. I’m not sure I got the full blessing from it, as I feel sure that when I gave, I did so grudgingly and not cheerfully. I think God understood however; and I believe with all my fiber that one reason God has blessed me so enormously in this world is because I respected this command especially during tough financial times. In time God showered blessing after blessing on me and the paltry amount I have given to Him is not even a drop in the bucket compared to His blessings for me. One cannot out-give God.

I must say I also enjoy giving my personal time to others in the form of counseling and advice. Not only has God blessed me with business acumen but I have a wealth of personal experiences, especially in the area of overcoming extreme adversity, to share with others. I have also read the Bible many times and studied it intently and use that training to offer advice when I can. Many people have sought and still seek my advice on various problems and it is rewarding to me to assist where I can.

Did you ever consider that God has blessed, shaped, and molded you for just such a purpose? If you are not currently giving as you should, by all means do so, and not just with financial assets, but also the other gifts God has given you. Do it cheerfully and obediently and just watch as your life improves beyond your wildest expectations

So let each one give as he purposes
in his heart, not grudgingly
or of necessity; for God loves a
cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all
grace abound toward you, that you,
always having all sufficiency in all
things, may have an abundance for
every good work.
